People are protesting at the Air Zoo

They are having B-29 rides and a bunch of these old people are out there with signs saying that the B-29 dropped the atomic bomb and that you shouldn't ride it because of this. Guess these people didn't see the estimated death toll of the Japanese civilians had we attempted a invasion.

Hmmm, not many pieces of machinery that haven't been used in war.
The protestors also seem to be forgetting that an undeclared, unprovoked attack by the Japanese on Pearl Harbor was the reason we went to war with Japan in the first place.

The casualty predictions were insanely high for both sides if an invasion happened. Also, awesome, I'd love to ride in a B-17 or B-29 someday

My understanding, from all the WWII books I've read is that the US was supplying Great Britain anyway, so while we weren't officially in the war, we were definitely having an impact. So Japan saw it as an inevitability that we'd be joining, and they were trying to cripple our navy before it had a chance to get mobilized.
Regardless, protestors are funny sometimes. Those same B-29s and their bombing raids also save countless thousands of American soldiers lives by their ability to destroy the war making abilities of our enemies and to soften up the defenses.
