# of items is less of a deal to me than people that don't scan their items quickly, use coupons, or pay cash.

There needs to be a "two coupons or more" line at the grocery store. Those people deserve each other.

The other day at Meijer I took some returnables back. I put them in the machine and got my ticket. Then I scanned about twenty groceries with my 3 and 1 year old hanging off me. I then bagged my groceries. When I asked the two lovely ladies standing at "U-Scan Headquarters" to break a quarter so I could put my kids on the damn pony they looked at me like I was the most inconvenient bastard in the world.

Yay for technology! More work for me!

If there are all 8 "12 and under" U-Scan's running and I have to wait more than 1 minute I'm about ready to kick a baby.

Also, I think public execution should in effect for people that text while doing the U-Scan.

Have a class where you get u scan certified. At that point you can exceed 12 items.

Some douchebag at walmart got pissed at me when i asked if it was alright to go ahead of him when i had one drink and he had 50 fucking items in the 15 or less. Screw you buddy. Its wal mart they got 3 lanes open for christs sake.

If it really is 12 items or less the register should enforce it. Lock out the 13th item and/or play a humiliating siren and flashing lights. And charge $1 extra for each additional item that is scanned after that.

Problem solved.

Of course, enforcing 12 items or less is not in the grocers' best interest.

So what's the call with alcohol purchases? Usually only 1 or 2 items but they have to wait until a store employee comes by to clear it.

Personally I think they should be ushered to the front of the line, they have important shit to do.

Good point, I guess that tells you I haven't been in a Meijer in a while. What they need to do is put up turnstiles so grocery carts can't go through those lines. Limit is whatever you can fit in one of those hand baskets.

I was a meijer during the last fall semester buying beer for the evening and a group of asian students were in the express lane in front of me with about 100 items which is confusing as hell to me cause they can read good enough to get into our school yet they can't read the words 12 items or less.

Regardless though the cashier let them do it and then got bitched out by the managers for allowing it which actually made the time spent and the frustration worth it.

You can't get lazy morans to put a shopping cart in a cart corral five feet away from their car, you expect them to count items?
