Yeah, they are a good choice that I forgot about...but I think with a new head coach Peyton will not go there.

    PS Kansas City?

    Miami might want Flynn

  • Lions should sign him to the league minimum so that he can mentor Stafford.thumbsup

  • medically cleared, but can he throw like payton manning again? Thought he lost lots of arm strength/velocity after not being able to do things for so long.

I'm sure he wasn't out there slinging it around or lifting any weights until they said his neck was good to go...I guess he has almost 2 months to get into shape before the Colts make a move. Now he can try to go full speed at least.

Maybe. But certainly not unless the current contract is torn up.

I'll bet that in some sad way the Indy management was selfishly hoping for PM to not get medical clearance or a 100% bill of health. Sounds horrible, but that way they could have saved face by not signing him, and kept him around the organization in some other capacity.

  • 1. San Francisco would make the most sense... as much as they "fell in love" with Alex Smith all over again, they only signed him to a 1 year deal. And the dude didn't put up crazy numbers or anything.

    2. NY Jets. Sachez has hit the wall and nobody in that locker room is particularly fond of him. Joey Harrington Part II

    3. Miami... Enough said.

    4. Minnesota... even though they're a train wreck getting worse with Peterson out for the first half of the season.

    5. Denver? Intriguing, probably not.

    6. Washington... because they'll pay.

Peyton Manning playing for the Raiders makes me chuckle

He would look awful in a Raiders uniform. It would be funny to see though.

  • I'd love to see him in Ariz., if only because Larry Fitzgerald deserves to have a competent QB to throw him the ball.

SF would also make sense as a destination, but it would make me miserable, as I find SF's fans to be some of the most obnoxious in football.

Even if Indy trades Manning they still have to pay him $28 million, but will it count against Indy's cap?

They've already said they won't trade him. it's keep him or cut him. No way they're going to pay him $28 million to go play for someone else.

  • SF seems like a good fit to me. Manning could definitely take them to the next level. The Jets would be a decent fit but not sure he'd want to get in on that mess!

  • Miami - Great tax structure for a person with Mannings millions
    AZ-dome team with quality recievers

I don't think he'll be in a rush to play in a cold weather area with an outdoor stadium.

Colts will cut him loose before they have to pay him the $28M to go with the $26M they already paid him.

  • Will be interesting to see what happens. If he leaves INDY, he will have to either learn a new offense, or teach a new offense to whatever team he plays for. He has had the same core of receivers for 8+ years.

  • He's a FOOL if he plays anywhere. I had a (successful) spinal fusion a few years ago, but the doctor warned me about doing things that could be problematic. Roller coasters are out. Horseback riding is out. Most anything that could put any undue stress on the discs (like getting hit by a 250 lb. linebacker) is DEFINITELY out. I have a titanium plate bolted to 3 vertebrae. Since they are fused and don't 'move' as they once did. the ones above and below now assume the motion.

I realize the guy loves football, but...

I get what you're saying, but you also aren't an all-world, all-time great NFL quarterback.

Michael Jordan retired numerous times because he didn't know when to call it quits, and Manning has that same passion for his sport. It's hard for any athlete to just say, "Hey, it's time to hang it up." For his own good he shouldn't play, his wife will probably tell him that a million times and I absolutely hate when players leave a team late in their career and put on another uniform. It will be really interesting to see where Peyton ends up because it won't be in Indy.

What is that, a Titleist? A hole in one...

You have to realize he is a world class athlete and you're a random joe. He has more doctors, and resources. When was the last time Peyton was really hit? His jerzery is pretty clean at the end of football games.

Nothing against you, he has more resources. I'm sure his doctors are looking out for his well-being.
