Places to eat in EL

I'm heading to EL this weekend for the spring game. I decided to make a weekend out of it. I am just asking for suggestions for where to eat? I know I've heard peanut barrel and maybe pizza house but any other suggestions would be helpful.

I'm going to assume you mean sit-down places.
Peanut Barrel or Crunchy's if you want a burger. If you're not particular about your Mexican food (their food is mediocre) but enjoy having a drink on a terrace, go to El Azteco. Dublin Square if you'd like some variety with the possibility of outdoor seating. Spartan Hall of Fame Cafe if you want to be surrounded by MSU memorabilia, but that's away from campus. LouHa's if you want a bazillion tv's and don't mind being away from campus. If you want pizza, then Pizza House.

Johnnys Hots, the five coney islands that were in the old taco bell, burger down, flats.
all of those are fucking awesome...then, go to barnes and noble to take a shit!!

The last time I was in EL I decided to try El Azteco as I had heard so much about it. I had the Enchilads Suizas and they were the worst I've have had anywhere in the USA - barely edible - papery dry.

I like the new fast-casual Thai food place on Grand River. The name is dumb, "No Thai!," but the food is pretty good, a (large) entree portion and a soft drink will run just under $10.
Don't get it confused witht he other new fast-cas Thai place, Thai 102, (where Bell's used to be downtown) that place is not so good..

Completely agree. The only redeeming quality about El Az is the terrace.

I live in Ann Arbor and have heard very good things about No Thai! (in both cities)

For home cookin go to fork in the road. It's out of the way but worth it.
For Indian try Mumbai
Best Italian i have had in the area is at spagnaulos

Last time I was there, E.L. looked like Anytown, U.S.A on where to eat. Such a shame that E.L.'s city leaders turned what could be a great college town into a bland place.

Swagath? I have never tried- I was tempted but it had poor reviews.
Mumbai has decreased their portion size. I'll give it a try. What dish do you go with?

I've been meaning to try that place. I used to buy the homemade samosa from the grocery store next door. They were really good and a great value. Haven't been by since they opened the restuarant. Good to hear someone recomend the place.
