Prosecutor mulls charges for Cincinnati Bearcats-Xavier Musketeers fight - ESPN

A southwest Ohio prosecutor will consider criminal charges in the aftermath of a brawl at the end of the Cincinnati-Xavier basketball game.

I don't think there should be charges.

Also, I finally caught the post game interview by the Xavier players. Holly crap those kids are morans. Why would you talk about being "gangsta" and "not backing down" after the most embarrassing event in the rivalries history?

I guess the prosecutor's sister-in-law sits on the Xavier board. That should make things easy on the UC players.

    He's a joke of a prosecutor.

All the respect I had for Cronin yesterday is gone after only suspending his idiots 6 games

Cronin didn't levy those suspensions, the university did.

Nevermind. It's not worth talking about on a message board.

And Cronin is going to be a hard ass to let them back.

heat of the moment...but that's what comes out of heat of the moment situations like that with 18-22 year olds. dumb to us sitting on the couch, but made sense to them at the time. I'm sure when they settle down and get older, they'll realize that it was a dumb thing to say, too.

  • Why didn't Xavier just use his telekinetic powers? This whole story seems somewhat inconsistent with the Marvel canon.

That's no excuse, if it were, most assault cases would be thrown out. I think you would have a hard time finding anyone on either team who would want to press charges, though Frease would have a case.

    That's a lot of games.

I appreciate the heavy handed responses of both schools. The suspensions were severe as promised.

Pathetic. Cronin's response was disappointing, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. Dantonio got a lot of flak for his suspension decisions, remember. The fact that Lyons got 2 games for essentially saying he'd do it again is disgusting.

I would love to see these guys in the tournament - so much satisfaction from watching Trice and Appling make them look silly.

Apples and watermelons. Dantonio got flak for establishing a 'no tolerance' policy and then turns around and lets Rucker play 3 days after getting out of jail.

Huh? The press conference isn't ten seconds after the game. Last time you saw a State player say something so absurd after a game? Never? Go watch the post game of the Xavier "celebration"...sickening.

Heat of the moment...nothing else. Also, I seriously doubt you got sick watching this. I seriously doubt anyone got sick watching that.

It was an obviously bad situation, but I don't know why people need to use exaggerated words to describe something.

9/11 was sickening...millions of people were physically affected by what they saw on tv. No one was physically affected by what happened in this game.

Time to move on...let these kids learn and grow from this.
