Q&A with Cass Tech HC on Freep- 1 ? about MSU...

  • Rogue Leader said...

That's irrelevant to this discussion. You can say John Herrington is a mediocre coach if your standard is NFL stardom.

    Go fuck a goat Rouge.

Go hate on great coaches and support bucknuts elsewhere.

The only guy I'm coming up with off the top of my head is Bart Scott. If Braylon were 3 or 4 years older he likely would have been a PSL product.

He definitely meets the requiremnt for long active careerthumbsup Representing those Jungaleers!

    Anyone else???

Who are the PSL guys with long active NFL careers? Marion Barber, Jr. and Jerome Bettis are old menlol

Ronald Bartell out of Renaissance (Went to college at Howard). http://www.raiders.com/team/roster/ron-bartell/ace1a117-7837-4476-88aa-7ffe496bd692/

That Antonio Gates guy is pretty good. As was that Derrick Mason guy.

Didn't Cass Tech win a state title this year?

The answer is yes. The funny thing is that nobody in the PSL wins state chanpionships (other than King and Cass).

Oh believe me. You've never been misunderstood. A douche bag with an inferior education is a douche bag with an inferior education. That you can't contribute anything more than drivel and inflammatory trolling is hardly out of character or surprising.

And thank you! Have a good one! lol

The last significant Cass Tech player to make it to the NFL was 20m years ago, correct? Also, area ballers playing against them ALL say they are thugs and quit because they are out of shape. If they don't want to come to MSU, it is THEIR loss, and Wilcher should be fired; part of his job is to send kids on for good education, positive mentoring, and potential grooming for an NFL roster.

NFL is irrelevant...but there hasn't been an impact player at scUM from Cass Tech in a long time. They bust out at a higher rate than just about any "pipeline" for them or us. Every year it seems like there's some 5'8" 165 DB that's given four stars because he'll be going to Michigan, and yet they all end up getting picked on if they manage to see the field. They may do well on a high school stage, but as D1 players, the only good ones seem to leave the state lol

here's part of the transcript that talks about MSU...

We're getting flooded with questions about Michigan State. Here are two of the representative ones. by James Jahnke 9:00 AM yesterday

MSU fans young and old would love to see more CassTech players on the team. How can coaches develop better relations with you and your staff? by NoMSULove? 9:00 AM yesterday

Coach, why are there no Technicians at or coming to Michigan State? Many MSU fans believe that you have built a blue wall around your football program. Meaning, you actively steer your best players towards Ann Arbor and/or away from MSU. I know you played for Michigan and all, but Coach Dantonio knows DBs, and is sending his kids to the NFL. The lack of marquee players from Cass Tech on the MSU football team over the years certainly doesn't dissuade the conspiracy theorists. Can you please speak to that point? by NYCSpartan 9:00 AM yesterday

CT Thomas Wilcher: Coach Dantonio and I have been working on that situation for the past few years. We will soon land a kid at MSU.

You left out the "best" part at the end:

@Coach Thomas Wilcher "Defense WINS Championships"
You're right, MSU will be great this season.
    by JimBob 12:16 PM yesterday

Thanks I appreciated the time and we look forward to starting the year at Wayne State in the Prep Kickoff Classic against Brother Rice. Go Cass Tech...and...Go Blue!
by Coach Thomas Wilcher 12:16 PM yesterday

    Have a great day everyone!
by Coach Thomas Wilcher 12:17 PM yesterday

    Take care!

    In the NFL I meant

So it's Wilcher's fault what Gholston did six years and three teams later? I don't like Wilcher as much as the next guy on here but if you have a high school standout that eventually gets drafted, that is a success. If your grading scale is Super Bowl Champs and Pro Bowlers then a lot of high school coaches are going to return dismal results.

Careful. 8ball took great offense to me saying something similar.

    Translation:

We continue to keep them at arm's length. When we have a player with solely MAC offers, we will make sure that he visits MSU and sees the opportunities there for him.

and when coach D and staff develop said MAC talent into a NFL draft pick more will come

  • Hey Mods - can you make it a ban-able offense to have stupid, 5th grade fights that persist across multiple months and multiple threads? Apparently there are fully grown men here who need a time out.

+1. Seriously. Sometimes it feels like I post on a message board forum for high school girls on which to discuss their boy problems and menstrual cycles. People need to grow the fuck up.

  • So i guess Finley and a teammate are coming down today (everyone and their sister is reporting it. Finley is a stud (6'6" 285 OT) and blew up in camps this summer and tOSU offered but now they are full.

Sounds like this could be the best chance MSU has had in a while to get a cass tech player because UM and OSU are full at OL
