How well do you think you would do on the a.c.t. Now? I know most people on this board were 24 and up in high school and I really don't need your number. I was just looking at my 15 year olds study shit and if I had to take it now a 20 would be a victory. I'd like to see the gov take it. Just to see.

I took a practice version of it (it allegedly scores you just a shade lower than you might actually score, just for incentive to study more)
Not giving my score, but I wouldnt have a problem getting into the school of my choice.

Yeah, I'd be going to community college. Those practice tests score a bit higher btw

I'd do better in verbal now but would have to study up on even the many basic mathematical concepts that I've forgotten.

i returned to school in my early 30's, going to classes at state with 18-22 year olds....and it was easy. almost half of the kids in some classes were cheating their asses off, and they still couldn't keep up. either i got smarter, or kids got dumber. i think it was the former. i was married too, so I didn't have to put in the energy to troll for chicks.
i see no reason to expect a lower score for anyone.

I'd probably do worse on the math but I'd expect to do the same if not better on everything else. My english skills have improved, and my reading comp. and science reasoning probably should be the same if they haven't improved. I have no clue how to do most of the math stuff anymore.

My little cousin got a perfect score on his SAT last week on his first attempt as a junior. 2400. Needless to say he is a weird dude. His mom smothered him and did not allow him to be a kid at all. Sign language at 6 months, French by two, has 0 friends, and can't socialize. Smart mother fucker tho. I got a 28 on my act, Id say that I could probably get around a 24 now.

Point is, you were taking classes that you wanted and needed. A kid taking that ACT will not take some of the shit that's on there. It's my contention that the test is complete bull shit. Not needed and useless in determining future success and failure. I don't think any adult would do as well overall as we did in high school. Hit that Washington post link above.

Before I went back in the past few years, easy -5.
I'd probably read the reading part now, instead of just looking at the questions and trying to dig out the answers.
So, maybe better, as I recall as that part was 12 or 13 below the rest.

way back I got a 29 with zero prep but back then no one studied for PSAT, SAT, ACT.
Schools, K-12 and colleges put a helluva lot more emphasis on test scores than they used to or should based on the link about the FL test.

Stayed up until 3AM night of ACT playing video games. Scored a 29 (34 on reading comprehension). After an engineering degree and 10 years of practice, my math is probably stronger. I'd say I'd pull about a 31 this time around.

I had a call from a recruiter a few weeks ago about a Job with EPIC, a health care software company. The recruiter asked if I would be interested in exploring the option I told them I would at least entertain the thought. Recruiter said they require some basic information before we go forward and two weeks later he sends me a questionnaire... which asks me for my high school ACT/SAT scores.
I thought this was incredibly strange. I didn't return any follow up calls.
