Most memorable performance (of many) to me was when he (along with Cropper) backed up Otis Redding at Monterey in 1967. I have the DVD of that whole set. Vintage!

RIP Duck. Big part of Otis' success.
I urge anyone who ever visits Memphis to visit the Stax Museum. It's an incredible place housed in the original Stax offices. I'm biased because I'm a huge Stax Music fan but it blows Graceland and Sun Studios outta the water. A lot of great pictures of Duck, Steve Cropper, Otis and the rest of the Stax line-up along with tons of other amazing shit. I take anybody who visits me there and almost everyone lists it as a highlight of their trip.

Damn shame.....loved Donald. I would put Flea and John Paul Jones right up there but I also saw the Police back in the day and was very surprised by Sting's ability as well....NOT in these guys class but very good
