The staff closed him today. They went hard core to get him on the dotted line. They read the rcmb and spartanmag and saw how the masses were getting fed up despite your best efforts to spin it.

"I'm questioning whether his decision to skip this junior day will affect how recruits view the progam and his claims about a family atmosphere.
It doesn't matter if he told them first or not. By not going to junior day he's sending the message (whether or not it's actually the case) that he cares more about Nike and a bunch of California coaches than the players he wants to bring into the family. That won't necessarily have a negative effect on all recruits, but it certainly can't have a positive one."

He didn't commit until Dantonio was on campus and talking to him, so what exactly is this quote supposed to demonstrate? Dantonio's absence obviously didn't leave a bad taste in RJ's (or Powell's) mouth. That's all well and good and I'm very glad they're Spartans, but it doesn't prove that other recruits weren't put off by it.
I love how everyone is trying to act like I said Dantonio not being there would destroy the program and nothing good would ever happen ever again. All I said was that him not being there sent the wrong message to recruits. It also prevented him from doing a lot of face-to-face recruiting and you don't get that chance every day. I spent all day trying to explain that to you morans and none of you wanted to listen to what I was saying.

Congrats on the pickup, looks like a really great player and person as well!
Just a quick question, just curious as to how many spots you guys have available for this class? I know last year you didn't have a huge class and your '13 class starting to fill up quickly.

You have no knowledge of any messages of any kind "sent to recruits" by and his football staff, so STFU about your
ramifications concerning how recruiting is handled by them. You've said all along how egregious a sin it was for Coach D to be out of town, so now that you've been shown to be totally out of sync with the reality of what is happening, save the spin for another topic.

questioning Dantonio)
My guess is that Shelton knew beforehand that Dantonio wouldn't be there Saturday, and would be there Sunday to meet with him. So it did matter that he told them. So, you were wrong.
You don't know what Dantonio told ANY of these kids. To imply that he cares more about Nike and a bunch of California coaches is asinine, because you don't know what Dantonio said to ANYBODY.
Your spent an entire day spewing speculative bullshit.

It doesn't matter what he told them, you retard. It doesn't matter what the reason was, it's still possible for this to make a recruit feel snubbed. And just because (fortunately) RJ didn't feel that way doesn't mean other recruits may not have. Regardless, it was a poor decision to schedule a junior day when the head coach couldn't be on campus. They get to schedule the junior day, so why not schedule it when all the staff would be available to recruit?

And it's possible that it didn't mean a damn thing. A possibility which you wouldn't (and won't) even consider.
A possibility which seems to have happened with the commitment of Shelton.
And, it does matter what he tells the recruits. You're actually saying that doesn't matter?
Wait...you're saying "It doesn't matter what he told them." The personal conversation between a head coach and a recruit doesn't matter?
And you're calling me a "retard"?
Wow.
