I'm really hungover and hope I don't throw up.

I'm listening to a decent book on tape called Into Thin Air by Jon Krackauer. He's the guy that wrote Under the Banner of Heaven and Into the Wild.

Pretty good book so far. Being on the World's Highest Summit is no picnic.

Side note: an attorney from Bloomfield Hills, Lou Kasischke, was on the same expedition with the author. They both almost died. I was working at the Perry Drugs (Rite Aid) in Birmingham during the time that he was missing and it was a hot topic (this was before the internets had really caught on strong). I remember that every one was concerned with whether or not he would make it back. I think they were out of touch for a week or so and people expected the worst.

Into thin air was a great read.

So I just read a bunch about mass extinctions and sudden climate changes and things, you know, because of the solar flares (which really don't seem very dangerous). Anyway, it sounds like we're fucked, the rain forests need to be saved and there's Methane gas about to explode from under melting permafrost. I guess a ton of things have happened since 1976, but we were lucky and missed having anything catastrophic happening. What did I learn in these last few hours? We can go extinct from a shit ton of different ways.

I like to start tasks at work with this music blaring in my headphones. Makes the task seem epic and important, even though it never is. Kinda reminds me of Skyrim music.

Also a plane could crash on top of you.

My desk chair seems a bit off today. Like someone sat in it. I don't think anyone came in my office last night. But the chair feels funny, like it's off height by a half inch. Maybe a quarter inch. Could be a loose screw, maybe a bad wheel. I should check. But that's a lot of effort. More effort than sitting here in my odd feeling chair and complaining about it.

meh. won't happen in my lifetime. let future generations deal with that shit.

I wonder why don't they put the "On" button on the keyboard instead of the PC. It'd be much more convenient. Surely the technology must exist.

Also, they have programs that automatically dim and brighten your monitor to match the light fluctuations throughout the day. This is really handy so you don't go blind when you look at the monitor at midnight, but can still read the screen at noon. I wonder why this isn't available for TV's yet?

When I type "Denicos" into my iPhone it autocorrects to "Demigod"

I think my phone's right on this one.
