1.) Will Gholston - Duh.
2.) LeVeon Bell - Best power back in the country, imo.
3.) Johnny Adams - Lockdown corner.
4.) Denicos Allen - Fear.
5.) Max Bullough - High football IQ

I think this will change if this same question is asked mid-season or postseason. We haven't seen enough of the new offensive players to form an opinion. One of the receivers (my money is on Arnett or Burbridge) will make waves, and Maxwell probably will also. I wouldn't be surprised to see Fonoti get some draft hype, either.

Same except I put Dennard or Lewis at #5. Crazy I am putting DB's on my list when just a few years ago I thought I could cover a WR as good or better that what I was watching on the field. I think these two are going to be STUDS.

I know. I thought about trading Chris McDonald for Rush but couldn't pull the trigger. I think in some respects Rush is better than Gholston.

Eric Smith has had a helluva pro career. It could be argued he's been more productive in the pros than Ringer or Thomas: that guy is a friggin' beast. (just ask A. Bolden: split his jaw like a melon)

If we were expanding to 10, I'd go:
6.) Dennard
7.) Rush
8.) Lewis
9.) Norman
10.) Caper
McDonald is very good, but this team is stacked with defensive talent. Some may doubt the inclusion of Caper, but if he stays healthy he's going to surprise a lot of people. If he can't stay healthy, I think Sims or McDonald are good candidates for the #10 spot.

Sorry, just meant the discussion to be top 5 players heading into THIS season. Top 5 all-time is another thread.
And I agree with the poster who said the list could see a shake-up based on who emerges on offense. But this is based strictly on what we know and have seen up to this point.

Allen in 2013 will be better than Adams in 2012, but right now Adams is a more complete player, imo. Just excuse me while I flee the country...

List is based off of love if being a Spartan and overall team pride
1. Issiah Lewis -- leader and not afraid to back it up
2. Will Gholston - just a freak
3. Leveon Bell - terrifying in space
4. Larry Caper - injuries have slowed him
5. TyQuan Hammock - could have transferred years ago, stuck it out and is the definition of a team player.

I like Adams' potential but I just feel like you gotta be nuts to make him top 5. I feel like he has under performed. Then again, I haven't really looked at his stats but I've never felt like, "Damn, Johnny stood out today."
