Haha! This is exactly why I didn't buy the game last year. It's amazing to see that MSU beats scUM 4years straight yet we haven't been ranked higher then them once. It's all about $ and which fan base will buy more if they are rated higher. Oh well, I'll take a win in real life over higher ratings in a fucking video game. Sheesh.

Ever since roster sharing became widespread EA stopped putting any effort into the ratings. At some point people need to stop acting surprised every year when the ratings come out and they have no resemblance to reality.

Gholston still has a lot to prove. He put up so so stats last season and was quiet for a lot of games. Takes more than just a helmet twist to get the folks at EA's attention.

Wow umaa has better rating every year no matter what lol. Texas is 99 overall??? 99 defense???
VTech 99 defense???
And even worse Wisc overall 99, 97 offense, 95 defense. I didn't know they would be this good.
ND is over rated as usual in video games and real life. 97 overall and what was their record again? Who is their starting qb?
The ratings seem like someone that doesn't really pay attention to NCAA football at all just put up some guesses. Oh well

According to these rankings, UM vs Alabama is more or less a wash. And here I was thinking that would be at least a two touchdown game. According to the link I'm looking at, Wisconsin is the highest rated team in the game?

You put more thought into this post than EA did in putting together their ratings. It really is that simple.
They know that nobody uses their rosters offline anyway, and most people are in year 2-3 in their dynasties before the season starts and they can see how inaccurate their rosters were. There really is no reason for them to spend a lot of manpower on them at this point.

Just like with Rivals and Athlon rankings and covers, schools with the most fans get extra bumps. ND, scUM, and Texas have huge followings that span the country so EA bumps the rankings of players just like Rivals so they can sell more of their product. It's has nothing to do with accuracy, it has to do with making money.

Gholston is in the game. Start the video, move it to the 8:30 mark and you'll see RE #2 as an 84 overall. Ridiculous. But he's in the game at least for those of you that are buying it and want to play online.
