Recommend me a lunch joint in Downtown Lansing

Going to be up there next Wednesday for some meetings at Lansing City Hall, have time to kill between 11-2.

Cross the river to Knight Cap if you want a good experience and like a menu with no prices. Troppos is nice and fancy too. Brannigan Brothers or whatever is hit or miss. Empire Sechuan if you want absolutely dirt cheap average Chinese food in a buffet.
Clara's and Emil's are the obvious/traditional sit down options.
If you want amazing Mexican food served out of a taco stand, go to Francis/Michigan for the El Oasis hut on the northeast side. I've only been to the bar's on weekends/nights but I'd like to try Kelly's or Tavern at lunch. We usually avoid it because it is chock full of government types.

Can you drive? I'd hit up Soup Spoon or Fork in the Road. I don't know if MBC is still open, since the brewery went under, but they had fantastic burgers.

If you can get to Old Town, go there. Washington Square doesn't have any lunch standouts.

There are a crap load of places within walking distance downtown... sammiches, soup...
Jalapeno's on Washington is good mexican.

I was going to say the Knightcap as well, however when I waited tables there about ten years ago they had prices on the menu. And Lunch is pretty reasonable or you can get a filet. The Steak Sandwich is really good, they use the end of the Tenderloin (filet Mignon). They also have lunch specials everyday. You can get out of there for ten to fifteen bucks if you don't have any alcohol.

I thought Mediteran would be decent but I asked around and it seems that their sauces and ingredients are mostly purchased from Gordon Food Service.
