    I'd like to hear anything re Parker, Young,Harris (the other one), Hamilton, Alexander,Tyus Jones etc.

  • Can't blame Meyer for taking the PSU commit. That's a coaching change, and there is no "code" among B10 coaches for stealing a kid from a school that lost their coach. We've done it, and had it done to us. Add in the situation of what happened at PSU and I really can't blame the kid for decommitting or any school he goes to for taking him.

    Pittman, and the potential Wiscy kid are different stories, however. But it may be that Meyer rationalizes it because he never had a chance at those kids. It will be interesting to see if he still plays by the SEC "recruiting doesn't start until a kid gives a verbal" policy, or if he adheres to the "code" in future years.

    I put more blame on the kids, though. If you were high on OSU at first, then cooled when Tressel left, then they should have waited it out to see who became the new coach. They didn't have to commit early. Dantonio doesn't put on the full press to force a commit. I only begrudge Pittman for committing in the first place if he was keeping one eye out for the coaching situation at tOSU.

  • Anybody else a bit irritated by the fact that the staff won't even recruit talented football players who may pan out at RB JUST because they told Tompkins he would be the only RB the staff took this year? I mean, that's a bit selfish if you ask me. Yes, he looks like a great prospect and i'm very excited to have him coming here, but we all know that you need two backs nowadays. Especially a bigger bruising back, which Perkins projects to be. If it didn't work out for him at RB, then he could play OLB, which the staff projects him at anyway. I don't know, just venting a bit here, I hate seeing some top players looking at SCUM because they will tell him what he wants to hear.

    So to summarize, you're irritated by the fact that this staff:

    A) Keeps their word to current commits

    and

    B) Doesn't tell recruits whatever they want to hear in order to land a commitment

    If a staff's honor and integrity came at the expense of winning, I could see some fans not being too thrilled about that. But when honor and integrity are combined with the winningest program in the entire conference over the last 4 years, you sound like a fucking idiot bitching about it.

    No, because over the next few years it's going to be hard for any RB to break into the rotation...Tompkins included.

    If Tompkins or anyone else can break a head of both Bell and Hill in the 2013 season, he'd really accomplish something.

    So I don't have a problem no recruiting players who are incredibly set on playing RB....if they say I'd prefer RB, but will compete anywhere to get on the field, then welcome aboard.
