FWIW, I saw Nix running the other day on campus...he has transformed his body. At first I had no idea it was him. As mentioned earlier in this thread, if Nix stays the course and if Payne is hulking up as being reported, those two are going to be killers. We're going to have a very, very good team this season - one that can speed it up and one that can slow down and pound it inside.

He will be redshirted to see if DE, TE, or OT fits him best. To be honest, if he can stay quick on his feet and get up to 300+ then he could be a great LT.

I've heard "saw Nix running on campus today" from at least six or seven different people this summer. Dude is getting after it. All the off-court drama could end up being a blessing in disguise. Nix has the talent to make a very good living playing professional basketball somewhere assuming he is in top shape, which appears to be the case.

The staff believes in recruiting football players. By that I mean athletic kids who can project at multiple positions. That way, a kid doesn't come in pigeon holed into one position. By doing this, if there is a lot of depth in one area, they can move the kid someplace else where he can contribute. Kilgore is a great example of this...kid is just a player. Saw him in playoffs vs Moeller last year and wondered how St X had been hiding him. Great to see MSU in on him. Rankings are so ridiculous...there are plenty of great.players that are completely overlooked.
Hicks is legit too...very impressed with the kid. If OSU had 30 scholarships to give he gets one.
Gall on the other hand I am not that sold on. Maybe he gets more athletic as he gets older, OL take time to develop into those big bodies. But he is a plodder from the couple games i saw. Not an OT at all...sluggo OG based on Jr performance. I hope that changes for him.
