Red Wings to host Winter Classic?

MLive is reporting that they are in talks with the NHL to host the Classic in the next two years. apparently two sites that are mentioned are CoPa and the Dirt House.

Red Wings in talks with NHL to host outdoor game within next two seasons

Detroit would prefer to have the game at Comerica Park, but it may end up at Michigan Stadium.

Won't happen. It's a made-for-TV event and Toronto doesn't do anything to help NBC.

I heard a rumor they were going to try to do a college/NHL double header at the Outhouse. MSU/UM one day, Wings/Leafs the next

I've never understood why they don't do it at Yankees Stadium / Mets foreclousure field and have two or three of the NYC teams play? Maybe Detroit/Original 6 vs Rangers and Isles vs Devils?
Marriage is like flying with kids, if the flight had 500 connections, never ended, Ted Striker were your pilot and you ate the fish.

Ok, people. The Winter Classic is between the American squads. The Canucks have their Heritage Classic. Yankee Stadium hosts the Pinstripe Bowl or some stupid s like that.

NHL has wanted it at Yankee Stadium but they have that pinstripe bowl. I think they were saying they would try having one there within 5 years despite that. Would need to work out dates.
Considering every team in WC so far seems to get a 2nd chance before others get their first it wouldn't surprise me to see one in near future at least I hope.
I don't think NHL wanted to use Citifield which is mets stadium and I havent heard any talks of MetLife which is Jets and Giants stadium.
Would love to see NYR/Wings original 6 matchup winter classic.

I think the WInter Classic is strictly an American thing. Canada has their own outdoor even with their teams. It should abosolutly be at Co Pa though. PLaying amonst the Detroit skyline would be incredible.

Game should be at Comerica. Good vibe for the city and a better experience for fans who would be so far away at the Hole that the game would be a rumor. Game should be about Detroit and the Wings, not those assholes and their winged helmets.
