Rollcall: Michigan Winter Beerfest

  • Tomorrow @ 5/3 Ballpark in Comstock Park

  • I'll be there. Look for a very young looking guy wearing a black hat with a Spartan S on it.

There's a toilet in the kitchen!

  • Is there a way to get a ticket? My friend is coming in from out of town and I'd like to go but a quick online search says its sold out.

  • Craigslist. Also, I am pretty damn sure people will be looking to get rid of tickets tomorrow at the gate. I got mine tonight at random. Worked out very well

  • ok, how does this event work? I found their program online and there are a lot of brewers. How big are the cups? 6 oz? 8 oz? You pay to get in and then what? Buy tickets?

And I assume that everyone has a D.D.?

    I certainly would need one.

  • $40 gets a ticket and 15 tokens. 3oz pours.

You can buy my tokens for .50 cents per for 10 inside.

    Awesome time.

  • You really do not need to actually put the token in the jar when in line with a bunch of others, it just needs to look like it, But be careful as those 3 oz. drinks add up quickly. The 1st year I went, I left horrifically drunk. Last year I ate something before and during the day and left drunk but tolerable. About to make breakfast, and then off to the Beerfest. Think waterproof and warm. There are hundreds of Port-a-potties and they are needed. I will have a pretzal neckless again. And a designated driver. I got my tickets in early December. If you haven't been there, make sure you get there next year as it is truly an unbelievable event to those of us who like beer.

This. First time I went it was at old town downtown Lansing!

Anyways, people seem to think that 3 oz pours wont do much... Yea look the hell out. Try to pace yourself. There's no way possible to get all of the beers. So pick and choose what you really want ahead of time and go for it.

    thank you sir.

I guess my thinking was "how do you try all of it?" (and still be able to walk out.)

I would want to try everything. I guess you need to devise a gameplan on what you're going to try? Don't sample items you've already had?

    Right.

I would seriously need to figure out what I wanted to accomplish that day. Just pick and choose from my priority list.

If I started grabbing one of everything.... :(

    yikes!

  • I would stay away from Bell's and other breweries that are popular...lines too long and you already have tried those.
