Interesting. Be careful what you wishful. I complained about Roushar as much as most, I just hope it doesn't come back to haunt us too much this season.

You're damn right I wished he would be gone. Literally anything is better than watching an incredible defense, best MSU defense I've seen in my lifetime, give an offense the short field and incredible number of times, and then watching that offense, with an incredible talent like Bell, somehow squander it. Over and over and over and over.
I don't care if they hire from within or they go outside. Any change is good when you had the worst imaginable.

A lot of people seem to have taken his miserable failure as a coordinator as a sign that he can't coach football. He was always a recruiting liability, but when he was a position coach he was pretty well respected. I wanted him fired at the end of the year, but only because he has shown he's not cut out to coordinate an offense and/or call plays. If demotion to position coach was on the table I would have had no problem with it.
Anyway, it's a shame he left after the annual coaching carousel, but I'm sure Dantonio will either promote or bring in the right guy.

They take their cue from Hondo and he VEHEMENTLY claims it isnt' Roushar's fault.....says that Staten and Warner are to blame and that the conservative nature of Dantonio's offensive philosophy handcuffed Roushar. I think it's complete horseshit, but whatever.

The play calling was abysmal last year period. Roushar was as big a part of that as anyone else could possibly be and probably the biggest part by a good margin. In that situation, change is always good.
