Side note: reading this thread must make Northwestern fans feel pretty bad. Almost everyone ends up saying nice things about them, which means their teams must have some historic levels of suckage .. They're doing decent these days though.

Evanston.....but it is close to Chicago.

Northwestern because their fans leave plenty of seats for me to go to football and basketball games there and tailgate on or near Lake Michigan. State also takes over the only reasonably good bar near their campus on BBall game day.

Unless NW is playing State I root for them. The Anthony Thomas fumble game about 10 years ago is my favorite non-MSU B1G game. My 2nd favorite in dramatic fashion over scum.

I like schools such as Minnesota and Indiana, mostly because they're not Michigan.

That's nothing novel. Denard has been doing that going on 4 years when MSU and um meet.

Michigan has a good dental school, and a small percentage of their female students are pretty.

whisky...great parties and jump around is cool
iowa...vandenberg's (spelling) mom (friggin hot)
illinois...usually pretty good in hoops
indiana...movie "breaking away" filmed there, seems like a nice campus

IU has some die hard basketball fans.

Minny has a cool campus and a good MBA program (I am an alum).

I like nebraskas mascot guy in the inflatable suit when he switches around inside an wals around on his "hands" with his "feet" in the air. Makes me giggle.

Back in my playing days in the late 80's Percy Snow was a favorite. In those days I loved the way the MSU defense came to play. I wore his number in high school. For many seasons MSU has been a hard luck team, even back in those days. Spartan fans are some of the most loyal fans. They truly deserve all the good fortune they have had lately for all the debacles they have endured. Spartan fans support their team whether two wins or ten wins. I like the brand of ball MSU plays. Dantonio is an excellent coach who will keep MSU relevant. Really the perfect guy for the job.
