I'm at about an 8. Remember, we did not play a flawless game vs. UM the first time around. Keith had 11 pts on terrible shooting and 1 assist. We played well, and UM played poorly, but it wasn't like you could look at that game and feel like the team played its best game possible.
Second point is that I think the OSU game was our only "bad" game. We played ok vs. Indiana. A couple of made free throws or better decisions at key moments in the last couple minutes, and we win that game. Again, like vs. UM, we didn't play great by any stretch of the imagination. But it's not like we were embarrassed.
Vs. OSU, I feel like there was a bit of a defensive melt-down in the second half. Definitely not a good game, especially defensively. And yet we only lost by 8 on the road to a top-4 B1G team.
I think if you look at our team over the course of the B1G season, we have steadily been getting better but are playing nowhere near our potential. We had back-to-back ok/mediocre games against two top teams in the league, and lost both of them. That doesn't change who we are, fundamentally. And who we are is markedly better than who UM is.
It's not a 10/10 -- UM is still a decent team, they'll be playing at home, they'll be fired up, and if they hit a lot of 3s early on they can be formidable. But I don't think there's an extremely high chance that happens.

I agree, but I like to focus on the things our team could control (like their decision-making, execution, coaching strategy), rather than things like dirty play + asinine officiating, which can't be controlled

Why does state drop from #4 to #8 after close losses to #1 and to #18 (away), and the skunkbears drop two spots after three losses to unranked Wisky, gets destroyed by MSU and a lost to a pathetic PSU who previously had no wins in the BT?
With that said, if Appling can get into paint, and MSU bigs stay away from foul issues, MSU will win by 5-10 pts. If MSU plays good defense & umich shoots poorly, it could be a 15-20 point win for MSU. I don't think umich matches up well with MSU, especially with their play in the paint and on D.
And, i'd love for State to beat umich's best "legal" team since 1982 by 15-25pts+.
