The DVR always misses the first 10 minutes because games are on before. Is there a show that's always on after that I can record?

Who is your service provider? With DirecTV (my only experience) you can adjust the settings for each program in the scheduler to add time before or afterwards if you want.

why record it...if you have the BTN, you should also have BTN on demand.

Not sure about Comcast. I have Brighthouse and they usually keep the most recent 2-3 episodes on demand for just about every show.

Exactly . In series settings, change it so it records for an extra 15 mins to be safe.

On sundays, the B1G and beyond is on right after. You'll want to catch the beginning of that because they have a new rap at the beginning of every episode. They are hilariously awful. "Only 3 weeks until the big ten tournament" was an opening line.
