Signs someone is from Downriver

Debate me that Macomb County is any different from Downriver. I've worked in Macomb County for 6 years now. It's a fine place to live except for the awful roads in terms of getting anywhere quickly. My point is that Roseville, Eastpointe and South Warren are no better (or worse) than Taylor, Lincoln Park, etc.

I mean shit I live in Grosse Pointe for god's sake. These people are crazy ass when they think that this area is "normal". I'm glad that I know another place and appreciate what I have.

Where does Macomb fit in any of this?

You came here with an agenda and I suggest you leave quietly.

  • Also proud to have grown up in Downriver. I'm also a proud Spartan alumn.

There are parts of Downriver that are actually very nice...and really, like it was said, it's no different than Macomb Co or even parts of Oakland. Hell, it's a lot better than parts of mid-Michigan...

And by the way, I'd be willing to bet I grew up in nicer houses and neighborhoods than many of the people here who constantly rip the entire area (I realize that's arrogant, but arrogance fits this thread very well).

You've posted "anal" one too many times. Ignored.

Holds two degrees from MSU, married with two sons. Proud to be from there. No different from Macomb County. Flipped the other way. Debate me.

Agree with the Macomb County statement.
I'm from the Downriver area and I enjoy the banter

  • Guys, this is a "make fun of Walverines" thread, and you should be aware of that implication by now whenever someone mentions "Downriver". It's not a "get butthurt because boohoo, someone is making fun of where you're from" thread.

  • My point is that it is an old bit. I bring up Macomb Co. because I'm sure many of the posters on here are from there. I've grown up with Wal-Marters my whole life, including growing up in the 90s when we were god awful in football and basketball overall. Think like 1993 when I was 10 years old. It was tough being a big MSU fan when U of M had the Fraud 5 and was doing well in FB.
