Single guys: Minimum-Maximum Age of Someone to Date

  • I'm 23.

    To be honest, I'd be fine with anything legal, but if I had to set a range: 19-23. For some reason, I just don't have a thing for women older than I am.

  • Well I think she needs to be out of college as a minimum. Otherwise you're gonna be dealing with maturity issues you don't wanna be dealing with. Oldest? Not entirely sure. Some women dated a guy for many years to get dumped or cheated on or what have you and you can't entirely blame them for being single at that point. I think going north of your own age is a slippery slope, but doesn't necessarily entail a definitive number.

    The formula is and always has been:

    Your age, Divided by 2, +7 and then Add or Subtract whatever it takes to get to LEGAL.

    That is the bottom end.

    Is she still hot? That is the maximum. When she is no longer hot, she is undate-able.

    I have always abided by this rule, but when I was 24 and pushed the envelope of that, and I wouldn't do that again.

    My age: 26

    Youngest: 23

    Oldest:27

    I have zero desire to date someone more than a year or so older. Chicks older than me seem to want to settle down and shit, and I have zero interest in doing so.

    Let's do some math here...

    26 / 2 = 13

    13 + 7 = 20

    So that is the youngest you would be willing to go by definition/rule, not 23...

    23, and for me, while i haven't dealt with this scenario, a girl younger than 21 would have to be particularly wonderful to seriously date because my friends and I like to hit the bars and it was always a pain having to deal with underage friends in our night out plans. I imagine that your actual gf being the only one under age would make things frustrating because you wanna hang and drink with the fellas but you can't bail on your chick all the time. I guess a fake ID would be a solution but that's risky and won't always be an option.

    I find it kind of funny that "All Ages Show" won't go under 21 lol

    Seriously though I'm 24 and I agree with the 21-26 range. That being said, I would totally break the rules for a 20-year-old who was awesome.

    I hear what you are saying about the formula, but as a 28 year old guy, I would not date someone who was 21 years old. Sure, maybe take them for a "spin" a couple of times, but I would not date them seriously. That would just be too young and too immature to think about dating them seriously.

    I'm 50. Wife and I will hang out for lunch or dinner sometimes either in Saugatuck in the summer or on the Nautical Mile in the spring on the east side of the state. We have a couple of young daughters. I can't stand watching 20 something girls get off of boats with 50 something guys. And it's not that I'm jealous of the 50 somethings. It's actually pretty gross. I'd say one in four of the girls, most posters on here would consider hot too. The other three are usually butter faces. Is being on a nice boat in the summer really worth that? I'm sure they get perks all year round, but man, have some pride. I often wonder if the girl takes the guy home to meet the parents or at least the mom, and her guy is as old as the parents how uncomfortable everyone is. Boat Ho's.

    BTW that 1/2 your age plus 7 is kind of BS when you hit my age too. I don't think I'd have anything in common with a 32 year old women. 18 years is a lot of change in generations.

    I would generally abide by the rule, but as you showed the math, that isn't cool man. At 24, I went as low as 19, but then I was like "What the hell am I doing?!".

  • 32 didn't quite work out for me. Probably something like 22-30 would be a good range.

    Dude, those Boat Ho's in Saugatuck are the 20' somethings/Cougars that are on the prowl for young dudes at night. Zero effort is needed for 100% reward. It's awesome.

    I just really don't have a thing for older women. There are definite benefits to banging them, but id just rather be with a younger chick.

    Some young chicks suck, though, and you have to filter through them rather quickly to find a good one.

    Haha, I've seen this happen in Saugatuck with the cougars. My friend was 23-24 at the time, and ended up banging this 45 yr old girl that he met at that main bar.

    Dude, that is usual from May-September there.

    When I was single and living there it was awesome. I highly recommend that if you are a single, young straight male that you spend a weekend there in the summer.

    Im 46. I wouldnt date an 18 year old seriously. I probably wouldnt date a 25 year old seriously. But Id bang the living daylights out of them on a regular basis, if given the chance. (And you would be surprised how often that chance comes up)
