Why is it taking so long to remove the old scoreboards? Are they saving pieces or planning on selling the whole thing? I assumed they'd just wrecking ball it.

They arent smashing them down with a wrecking ball. It'll take some time. They also removed a bunch of cement under the north scoreboard.

Rexrode gave an update in paper today:
Old score boards: They Gone.
Cement Foundations for new boards have been dug and poured.
Scoreboards completed by August 1st
Still raising money for north lockerroo/media room/bathroom/concourse renovation/addition. Project is well into planning stages and they have plent of donors interested in helping out.
Season Ticket sales have been suspended until at least July so they can fill the more than 6000 new orders they recently received and see where they are at.
MSU at the point that they will renovate Munn over building a new arena unless they can find a "windfall" somewhere.
