Sliced deli meat: What's your shelf life?

So I'm lazy as hell tonight and don't feel like cooking or ordering out. There's some sliced turkey in the fridge that I bought 10 days ago. It's high quality stuff, I believe Boar's Head brand.
I'm interested to know... What's the longest people here will let deli meat sit in the fridge before pitching it? My turkey doesn't smell or anything, but I'm thinking it has to be on the border.

If it's turkey and it smells fine, I'd eat it. Turkey is generally pretty obvious about when it has gone south. Although if it's old don't be surprised if you have a weird bowel movement later.

Yep, go by smell and feel. It can also depend a lot upon the refrigerator. When I was renting, my apartment's refrigerator was awful and things went bad really quickly (milk, meat, lettuce and other veggies, etc). I bought a house and had to buy a new refrigerator. I'm shocked how long fruits and vegetables last in the new fridge.

I have been told this by many, including at the deli counter.
and your refrigerator should be in the mid to upper 30s in my opinion and the freezer below 0 F. Just because something is frozen isn't good enough.

As others have said, go by smell and feel. However, even if it's safe to eat it's still going to taste lousy after 10 days in the fridge. I toss my Boarshead Ovengold after 4-5 days because it loses a lot of its flavor by then.

7 days. After that it smells weird and I would never trust it. If its prepackaged, it lasts much longer.

It wasn't canned...got it fresh from a local fish counter in a plastic container. It wasn't about what it cost...it was a great snack this afternoon when the only other option was the vending machine.

Depends on the kind of meat. Salami, pastrami and other high fat meats last longer. Boars head is good stuff, put it's the fancy crap with less preservatives. I would pitch it in five days. It's really up to you tho

A friend of mine almost died eating old hot dogs. His roommate had bought the hotdogs a month earlier, but forgot them in the trunk of his car. The Roommate found them, they looked okay and put them in the fridge. My friend was hungry cooked a couple of them up. Anyway he wound up in the emergency room full of bacteria. They had to pump him up with hardcore antibiotics. The Doctor asked him if he was a junky because he only sees heroin addicts in his condition.

7 days? No f-ing way. I don't touch that stuff beyond 4-5 days tops.
I don't trust the ex con working at the deli to keep track of how long that half-sliced turkey has been sitting in the cooler.
