Small writeup on Chris Allen

  • I can't believe we are on page 2 with no reference to the fact that Chris Allen was the best shooter on the team. He used to shoot the lights out in practice. Couldn't miss.

part of the reason everyone on last years team hated him was cuz he boinked d summers' girlfriend for sure, and the other guys suspected him of doing the same thing to them (think delonte west and lebron in cleveland).

I had a coach ask me about taking Allen as a transfer and what I knew since his dad had reached out to said coach. After I told him what had happened at MSU he said "thanks but no thanks."

One question though - if he was so late at the Final Four why did Izzo play him? Didn't he hurt the team more putting him out there?

Finally, you do know there is pretty hard evidence that the Delonte West/LeBron's mom stuff was a lie spread by LeBron's posse, right? A similar rumor regarding the mother of his older kids was spread during the finals last year when LeBron was sucking (I posted an article about this on here many months ago).

"One other thing. A national NBA reporter told me he'd heard—but had never been able to confirm—that the Delonte-Gloria muck had been the brainchild of LeBron's manager and partner, Maverick Carter. I dismissed that as ludicrous, until one day during last season's Finals, when I heard Chris Broussard and Stephen A. Smith—two of Mav Carter's go-to guys—on ESPN2 talking about off-court issues hurting LeBron's play. It was just that vague until later that day, when the intertubes began to fill with stories about a dalliance between Savannah Brinson, the mother of LeBron's two sons, and Rashard Lewis."

    Best shooter on the team?

    2007-08: 39%
    2008-09: 36%
    2009-10: 43%

Lots of bench warmers can shoot the lights out in practice, too.

    Ok so far I got:

    1. He was out til all hours the night before the Butler game (doing what?) 2. He banged Summers' girl (and others suspected the same) 3. He was all around cocky and selfish in general.

    Do I got that right?

Also, he was suspended for the quarterfinal matchup vs Minnesota in the BTT. WTF was the deal with that?

That's fine that he banged Summers' girl. Summers was a lazy pothead loser anyways.

16 minutes, no points, three fouls, three TO---yep bad (thought he was hurt though)

Reminds me of the 2002 football game at Iowa. I remember hearing rumors that Smoker was out all night doing drugs, missed the team flight, etc. Down 44-7 after 3 quarters. Lost 44-16, and Smoker threw 2 INT's.

if you've read the book of basketball by bill simmons, he says that 9 out of 10 nba insiders will tell u off the books that its true. lebrons posse had his own rep in mind, theyve proven that they arent very adept at PR (exhibit A: the decision)

No, you just said that Summers tried to undermine Green's leadership last year purposefully, and also that calling Summers (a kid who was a part of two B10 Titles, two Final Fours, a NC game) a dissapointment was "being too generous".

I'm the ass? Every post you make is about our shitty generation, or your superiority. I love Durrell, he was a great Spartan. Too bad you're too ignorant to look past one shaky season. Congrats to you.

Calling Summers a "great" Spartan downplays what it means to be a great Spartan. That term should be reserved for the best. While I don't think he was a bad Spartan, let's just call it what it was--Durrell was an average Spartan.

  • Glad to see he's doing well. The Dallas Morning News had a blurb about his game leading 25 point performance over the weekend.

ISU is 18-8 now. Does anyone else here think this would be a brutal early round NCAA match up for us if it happens, what with all the "intangibles" in their favor given the revenge factor (not to mention Korie on the bench)?

I have had plenty of good things happen after 2am. Of course I didn't have to play a national semifinal in basketball the next day and could have been arrested countless times.

But yeah the older I get I realize that nothing good really happens after midnight. And if he was out that late he had to be hurting the next day.

I never knew about that part of the story I always thought it was just the Summers thing.

As far as I'm concerned, that can be good or bad, depending upon one's adult choices.

That said, I admire your courage and appreciate your insights, DMB. Thanks!

So basically if Allen had showed up in the butler game we win and go on to play duke banghead

Allens play had nothing to do w the fact the black zebra wanted the guarentee a hometeam in the finals. Give us any other set of refs that day and we win by 10.

  • Durrell was Jon Garavaglia with a better surrounding cast. Not saying they were the same player (Jon a post player, Durrell a wing), more like they excelled against lesser hs competition (class c) and they had the same hobbies and a lack of hunger to win.

Garavaglia COULD NEVER rank anywhere near Durrell when it comes to impact, contributions, and talent brought to the program. And I don't think their level of competition at the hs level has ANYTHING to do with their perspective college careers.

Having watched ISU four times this year I would not be concerned with this match one bit

Who would want the greater revenge? Them or MSU? I would feel quite confident that MSU would be pretty fired up for this matchup. BTW, have you even watched this team play? They are not very good.
