The only significant player going anywhere is Smotrycz. Christian stinks.....so does Brundage. Whoever a page back has never seen him play....he is a terrible shooter. That is why as fans of other schools, this kind of stinks. Pretty much anyone you bring in will be better than Christian and Brundage. They are not major D1 players. Smotrycz will hurt them no matter how the try to spin it. He was very effective in that system.

I have had this conversation before. Even if he is overrated, McGary is going to add a ton of value to UM inside, especially in the B10 season. Again- Smotrycz lost his starting job this year when he had zero competition for the power forward spot. McGary will start his career as a better defensive and rebounding presence thatn Smotrycz ever would have been.
Anyone. Anyplace. Anytime.

Burke, Hardaway, Morgan, McGary, Morgan start...fine I guess...you bench is...freshman?
Then what? What if Hardaway can't find consistency, what if McGary wilts playing against more experienced 20 year olds..injuries, foul trouble, cold shooting? Lineup flexibility?
Michigan lost all of their depth and pretty much all of their leadership between graduation and transfers.

UM should still have decent post depth- remember Horford was hurt all year and redshirted. They also redshirted a freshman post player.
The issue is guard depth- I fully expect Beilein to try and land 1 or even 2 guards in the next month (and possibly try and get Zeigler).

"It's just a matter of what I thought was the right fit, something my family agreed on," Smotrycz said. "I don't want to say too much right now in being sensitive to the coaching staff. But it was a decision I had to make to be somewhere I was happy."
