    You can always just search apartments on google maps and it'll show you places right downtown. To anyone wanting to live right downtown I would suggest Plaza Towers, The Gallery, 38, and then places close to downtown... Icon on Bond, Boardwalk, The Globe, Union Square

    What are the street(s) and intersections of the main downtown restaurants & bars area?

    Woodland Creek apartments on East Paris just south of 28th street are pretty nice. Once a month they throw a party and provide free kegs (no shit).

    hahah what? My girlfriend lived there for a summer and we never heard of these, damnit!!!

    Most bars and restaurants downtown are on Ionia (intersection of Ionia and Fulton) and then there are more like the BOB and Mojos on Monroe (intersection Monroe and Fulton)... all within a 5 minute walk of each other. Of course there are others around that area but that's a good idea of where everything is located.

    Just looking through this old thread and I moved into this complex about two months ago. I like it so far.

    Do they still have the monthly parties?

    Yeah they do, one of them is tomorrow. I didnt make it to last month's one because I was downtown, and tomorrow Ill be in EL, but hopefully next month. My leasing agent is pretty hot, and I think she works at these things so there is at least that {lol}

  • This. Only acceptable if within walking distance to Eastown.

    So typical, so safe middle class, so WASP

    MoJo moves to Detroit and chooses Bloomfield Hills.

    Honestly, it would probably be a great place to live for a few years, but you along with 100 other initial buyers will want to sell within 5 years and you'll all be competing with each other. The price for additional parking is pretty good, at least they don't butt rape you there. It's a nice place in a good, convenient area. If you're willing to pay a premium per square foot ($190,000 will get you 4 bedrooms, 3 baths and 3000 square feet in a newer home in Grand Rapids), then go for it.

    Oh, and you'll always find hot and willing women downtown.

  • This is Grand Rapids, not Beverly Hills -- why in the eff would you need/want to pay $1,000 a month? You can find a nice pad around the $650 range, even less.

    I think you are correct cuz I am seeing a lot of rental opportunities there which is exactly what I am looking for. I wouldn't buy but I appreciate the advice.

  • Nice, have you looked at them in person?
