To be fair, Duke was a finalist for McGary.
I'd be a bit of a hypocrite if I made fun of the length of this thread because i've posted in it, so I do understand the interest in talking about this recruit.
That said, McGary will be 20 when he arrives on campus and if he is as good as advertised, Michigan will be tough, but he is likely to jump early.
More importantly, MSU is well positioned with several high end recruits. Outsiders see last year's debacle + the departures of guys like Allen, Lucious, even Sherman, Anderson, and likely assume that things are rough in East Lansing. However, Dawson and Appling give us two McDonalds All Americans in our starting line up, and if we can get Gary Harris, that will be a huge momentum boost to our already steady recruiting.

yeah, because McGary once committed to Duke then was rumored to commit to UNC. MSU wasn't a finalist or even in the running for the kid so why is it a 15 page thread for a kid Izzo didn't even recruit and who never came to campus for a visit?

Why is everyone making a big deal about this? There are 4 other schools in the B1G that are getting better talent then UM (this includes MSU) and they don't play the live by the 3 die by the 3 ball that B____ plays. There are a lot bigger fish to worry about in the future. UM won't be picked to win the B1G let alone be FF favorites anytime soon. You all are acting crazy...

So UM is 5th in the Big Ten recruiting and yet 4th nationally
Its not just Mcgary, all 3 UM commits are higher rated than ANY of the MSU commits in the class of 2012.

There's nothing wrong with making a big deal for getting McGary. He's a big time prospect and the best they've had for a very long time. If MSU had landed him we'd make a big deal. Not as big as UM makes it but we are already the BB king of this state and by a large margin. They of course see this as their chance to once again become a viable program instead of MSU's (disregarding last year) bitch.

I did.
And the fact that they offered all 3 of our recruits but we offered none of theirs.
Robinson blew up, but I wouldn't be crowing about Staukasaurus. He's ranked 79, our 3 are 80, 82, and 84.
And how come there is no data on staukasaurus? Doesn't give the "average, developing, good, outstanding" reports on his shooting, handling, strength, nothing.
