I grew up in Puerto Rico. I lived in Guaynabo which isn't too far from San Juan, honestly nothing is really far (country is only 110 miles long or so). Do you have kids? If so there is an international school called Baldwin School where I attended K through 5th grade. Also a nice neighborhood called La villa de Torimar with tons of American families. I you have any more question, I'll be more than happy to help

Lived there...for a summer internship. In Rio Piedras near the University of Puerto Rico. Wouldn't recommend it. Nevermind the tropical climate, all of the 'windows' were wooden slats in the open air through which lizards were constantly creeping in. Actually didn't mind that part, but the insects sucked. Might not occur to you to ask...but make sure the place has glass windows.

Best are near the airport is Isla Verde.5 minutes away and on the best beachin SJ.Restaurants,clubs,casinos,chicks all within walking distance.

This was taken on a holiday most likely.During the week th ebeach isn't crowded at all.I walked this beach before work for 5 years.THE best place to live and be close to the airport.Most of the ATC's,pilots and FA's based in San Juan live in the condos on Isla Verde beach.

San Juan Kid......visiting San Juan next week...stayin at the El Conquisidar for two days post cruise..any suggestions for affordable places to eat near there?

Also renting a car..what's some good spots to hit for a little tour? rain Forest?Traveling with wife and 3 kids

Are you talking about to live or a weekend place away from the city?

Living for a year or so.

Are you bilingual?If not ,i recommend a condo on Isla Verde Ave..Close to everything.For homes,you have Los Angeles closest to the airport but it is meh.Ocean Park and Punta Las Marias have some nice house about 5-10 minutes farther west along the shore.

If you look at houses definitely are gonna want a gated community.
