I lurk on this board quite a bit and have come over here many times. You guys have very different rules here than we do over there though. Some posters go over there thinking the rules are the same. JMO.

We were pushing for mod badges from minute one on here. So if someone else was actually asking for it too, more power to you guys. We get banned on tBB for all kinds of ridiculous reasons. One poster I know was banned for "not happy with the board technology". For 80 years. We get 100 year bans (lots of RCMBers) for innocuous comments constantly.
The biggest rule difference that you guys have is that you're strict on swearing. We had a language filter on our old board for the last 7-8 years before moving onto 247. We don't like all the swearing either, but do you know what a pain in the ass it would be to police the amount of posts that we have?

I think most of us feel that the boards are a fun place to chill, talk sports, and engage in other friendly banter. The tension comes because other boards take things a little too seriously and rigidly enforce rules that limit appropriate topics of discussion to nothing but sports.
