this would be nice, we do not get enough talent out of chicago.
Your average UofM fan and I have something in common, neither of us went to UofM. Though we do share One major difference, I got Accepted.

According to a free rivals article linked on the Duff, Cooper was the highest rated lineman at the SMSB camp. Landing him would be a feather in Coach D's camp and a classic example of a player that has 4 star talent that goes under the radar until the summer of his senior season.

couldn't agree more.....it's baffling. ND, the rest of the Big Ten, the ACC and the Big Twelve all recruit the shit out of the chicagoland area but.........still, we should do better considering our strong alum connections in that area.

Cooper looks like a project recruit that will need some time in the weight room. 6'5 220 DE. Unrated so far by Rivals and 247. Had some MAC offers, but we were the first BCS school to offer. Looks like the classic 2 star diamond in the rough. Interesting to see this week what other offers come his way.

but but but....I thought stars given to HS Juniors was the final say on who will be good in College?!!??! Are you trying to tell me that not every good player in the area has committed to Michigan or Ohio State yet?!?? That some kids who haven't done much in HS may have great senior years and grow into men who play big boy football?

I don't think he'll be a "diamond in the rough" or a 2-star for very long. Watch his SMSB film - he beat some highly-ranked OL, including David Dawson.

Uhh, no. Looks like the classic "no one knew about him till camps, but he's actually a very good player". If it was Feb, I'd say you're correct. Since it's June, this kid is going to rise in the rankings. Wiltfong saying "His stock is on the rise" means this is not a 2-star.
Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.

Would be great to see him in green and white.. he has earned a lot of praise recently and as another poster put it, he had a lot of fun pushing around UM oline recruits at the camp in Southfield.

Agree, he will not be a 2 star for very long. Will be interesting to see the offers start coming in. Hope we lock him soon.
