Caper will be #2 unless Hill breaks some craziness off in the few touches he gets

Based on the spring game and the burst Hill displayed as a return man last season, I think the competition for No. 2 at RB is much, much closer than that.

  • I think Hill has a great chance to be number 2 back, especially with Caper getting another concussion.

Also I think Hill gives a better change of pace. Seems to have a really good motor.

Agree with this. Caper still has plenty of value, particularly as MSU's best pass-catcher out of the backfield. Certainly wouldn't count him out at this point and I'm sure he'll contribute this season if healthy. Very high on Hill though, and have been ever since I saw him as a senior with Chelsea High.

Meant to say foot, he had a minor injury in the spring game that limited him Saturday.

Dantonio's brain limited Bell on Saturday

I also think this gives MSU the luxury of RSing Nick Tompkins.

Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.

  • I was excited about Hill but I am just not feeling it anymore. I was expecting him to be more of a home run threat. Maybe I am just still mad at him because of the fumble in the B1G Championship game. God that hurt.

Gotta get over that shit and move on. He's improved from last year and that was pretty obvious in the spring game. It looks like the game is starting to slow down for him.
I like his change of pace from Bell and Caper... he should have a great year and only get better throughout it.

He's missing that one extra gear to make him a true burner, but he's got plenty of speed. Hill is a nice change-of-pace option though.
