Hollis' Spartan Stadium seating expansion idea is the bomb!!

It's VargMan. I don't even read it to know he's full of shit.

I didn't think to ask due to so many other pressing topics but that would have been a good one. Covered a lot of ground today, including a lengthy discussion of the softball program after it went 0-23 in Big Ten play, with Hollis continuing to support coach Jackie Joseph.

I'll put some other stuff out there in the morning, these are just the items I found most important/interesting from the afternoon meeting.

How could we add seats anytime in the next 15 years with the new scoreboards?

Didn't see it in there but Comp reported that Hollis said no pro combats this year because Nike is focused on the NFL right now.

Freep uses a giant year old picture of Hollis with Brandon. Completely unrelated. Sounds about right. Detroit rags can't write about MSU without working some Michigan angle.

I think we could expand in non-traditional ways...like the type of seating that is able to be installed for higher demand games. You think we could fill the stadium up to 120,000 for a semifinal playoff game under Jack Ebling's system?

Also, another non-traditional way is to build a facility atop the south endzone stand area that would hold restaurants and could be indoor/outdoor type with glass walls being set up to enclose the area...or they could be suites set up like at the western metal building at petco park in san diego...or both. imagine this type of building hovering above the south endzone stands...

Hollis did say they will most likely apply for pro combats again in 2013. I'll have more from Hollis on jerseys and several other topics in a Part 2 installment this afternoon.

Dan, could you ask Hollis if they'd ever go the route of a lot of other schools these days and have many different uniform combinations and colors, helmets and all that? It helps so much with appeal to the recruits, thanks Dan.
