I am on the Suarez team here. Evra acted like a bitch by not addressing the issue directly with Suarez after it happened. Even many of the Man U old timers feel like this was overblown and should have been handled by the players. Suarez has elected the "you are dead to me" track and doesn't even acknowledge Evra's existance, so making them shake hands is ridiculous. Now, with that said, Suarez did make a big mistake telling his club president and manager that he would shake hands when he had no intention of doing it. Kenny has backed Luis to a fault, and Luis made him look like a fool.That's what could bite him in the ass in the end.

Yeah, I know people don't like soccer. But it's a story that would get posted the day of if it was NBA, NFL, or college bball/fball. In the end, it is the same concept regardless of the sport.

Evra. Suarez is a POS and Liverpool should just get rid of him at this point. There was plenty of evidence of his racist tirade against Evra, which is the reason he was found guilty of racial abuse and banned an almost unprecedented 8 games (about 20% of the EPL season). Then coming right off this he decides to snub the guy he racially abused? Give me a friggin' break? If he was truly sorry for his actions (as he said he was) he should have sought Evra out. Instead he made an utter ass out of himself and the club. Dalglish said as much. At this point I'd sell him off. Maybe he'd enjoy dodging kidnap attempts down in South America.

Suarez is a million dollar talent, who unfortunately has a 10 cent brain. BTW, Evra didn't exactly handle the situation well at the end of the match either. Then again, if I was in his shoes, I'd probably knock the mfer out.

Yeah, I agree. They both seem a little immature. Suarez is always whining C. Ronaldo style and Evra has also been known for creating drama (France team mutiny during world cup). I agree the whole incident has been overhyped.

Hopefully you never hurl racial epithets at people at your place of work resulting in someone filing a charge against you. Evra isn't my favorite player, but he was well within his rights to file charges and absolutely should have done so. I'm sorry, but if someone calls me the type of names that Suarez called Evra repeatedly during a match, I'm not seaking him out afterward to work it out.

You also have to view this through the prism of racial abuse that faces african (and players of african decent) in major European leagues. Maurice Edu (an American midfielder for those that don't follow the game) had his car set ablaze by Celtic fans. Oguchi Onyewu and DeMarcus Beasley have also faced putrid abuse. However, for the most part you don't see it coming from the professionals on the field. When it happens, this type of behavior needs to be stamped out. Thus, Suarez should have absolutely shaken Evra's hand prior to the game, which Evra was willing to do. Instead he exacerbated an already volatile situation.

In addition, I don't know if you've ever been to a Man U v. Liverpool match, but I have and let me tell you it ain't for the faint of heart. Makes a Raiders/Forty Niners game look a game of red rover. The last thing you need is this kinda garbage on the field.

Again, Suarez is a POS and if I was a Liverpool fan, I'd be embarassed every time he pulled the crest over his heart. Say what you want about the media hype it up, but Suarez brought this attention onto himself and his club. No one is to blame for this but him. Liverpool could defuse it, however, by selling the a-hole back to South America. I'm sure River Plate would love to have him.

Now wait, no one here knows exactly what he said. Evra initially told the press that Suarez called him the N word at least 10 times during the match which got the media in a frenzy, but when he was officially interviewed by the FA panel, Evra changed his story to say that Suarez, speaking in spanish, said the word 'negro' to him 5 times in response to Evra attempting to say something in spanish about Suarez's sister's pussy. (“Concha de tu hermana”). Evra couldn't understand anything else Suarez said. In other words, Evra lit the fuse, and Suarez's dumb ass stepped directly on the bomb. Neither of these clowns look good in this situation. It should have been handled between the players and if necessary the clubs.
