Man, i remember being really little and my mom would read this picture book type thing of like 10 NFL stars from the early 90's and he was one of the 10. I remember being all pumped because i could memorize who they were in order and who they played for.

There is a high incidence of suicides among athletes that have suffered multiple concussions. Several former NHL enforcers either killed themselves, or died doing exceedingly reckless things in one summer (can't remember if it was last year or the year before).
He may also be bi-polar, but concussions lead to problems that medical science can't begin to explain.

I know, I'm not ruling it out, I was just going off the past situation in 2010 where he tried to drive his car off a cliff after a fight with his girlfriend...
But yeah, these guys kill themselves because they live with constant headaches and noise and light sensitivity... basically makes being alive the worst thing imaginable.

very sad. i tend to say its not suicide simply cuz of how he lived life. i mean when the patriots first called him to see if he wanted to unretire, he was on the beach surfing, and apparently thats just how he lived his life in san diego
