Man, the counter on that awesome site registers over 10 million hits. lol

Well, Tate was the September Heisman winner and all the wal_verines believed he was going to lead them to the promised land!!

  • By the way, I kid you not, but last weekend I saw a bus stop with "TATER" spray painted on it.

In retrospective, that seems kind of appropriate given this news.

They didn't have any massive brawls in dorm rooms, starting CBs getting thrown in jail, TEs a part of laptop theft rings, eluding arrests in Colorado, etc.

What school did all this, it sounds dangerous as hell!

I'm sure that kids were doing things outside of the law like every other college kid... but the point is Miami cleaned up pretty nicely under Shannon (still can't believe they canned him).

I'm just saying the perception that Miami is "Thug U" is antiquated.

I like Shannon, and I am like you, cant believe they canned him. I agree that they were very much unlike the thug-u reputation that they earned decades ago, but there was some amount of smoke and mirrors happening there also. Im glad they cleaned it up, that was best for college football. I hope they keep it that way. But I will remain skeptically optimistic.

He's afraid to compete. Just like his brother, he transfers at the sign of competition. Hell, either he or his brother (or both) even transferred high schools because of competition. What a pathetic quitter family.

I just read the bio's on the qbforce website. At least 2 of the 3 brothers changed high schools so they could have a chance to start. Also, it sounds like the oldest brother changed Pop Warner teams mulitiple times because "the coaches wanted their sons to play quarterback".

Definitely some problems with that family.

Clearly you don't live in Miami...while Shannon did preside over a relatively quiet period, things are picking up...

"But Golden’s first few months also have included dealing with several off-field issues: Jeffrey Brown’s arrest last week on a sexual battery charge; Ramon Buchanan’s March 18 arrest for resisting arrest and allegedly spitting on and trying to head-butt a police officer; and media reports that eight players will be suspended for a game or more because of three separate incidents. One incident reportedly involved UM police, and there has been published speculation about marijuana use by multiple players."

Yeah I'm going off the Shannon years. They actually had a shockingly clean slate compared to just about every other major D1 program.

PS.. I actually will be living in Miami in a few months!

Makes it hard to believe that they went from no problems at all for 2 years, to all of that overnight. Sounds like things were just covered up a lot better. Maybe it's just coincidence, but that's more than just players testing the new coach to see what they can get away with.

  • Tate was a pretty decent QB. I'm kind of interested in seeing what he can do elsewhere.

Anyone that thinks you can get 100 kids of that age together and have no problems is an idiot. You can put 100 merit scholars together and if you introduce alcohol and other drugs there are going to be idiots. Kids will be kids. To say that Randy Shannon had no problems is idiotic.

  • I've posted this before... but it's worth repeating. Years ago I was visiting my brother who lives near Scripps Ranch High School in San Diego. We came home one evening to find some kid stealing beer out of his garage. My brother pinned the punk on the ground and made him eat grass until he started to cry. Years later, I notice that this beer-stealing punk is playing qb for Michigan.

Anyway, I have an insiders opinion on why Little-man Tate prefers to play on artificial turf!

  • Forcier would have the chance to be an impact player at either EMU or Bowling Green. My bet is he'll end up at one of those two.

  • Ryan Williams, the QB who transferred from Memphis is a pretty darn good player. He's a pro-style QB who left Memphis when Porter decided to go to the spread. Probably the lone bright spot on one of the worst teams in the BCS.
