Tell me about the Michigan football team...

  • Their head coach has never had a win against a team that finished in the top 20.

    And their DC was such a great coordinator in the NFL that Baltimore fans rejoiced when he left. He's not even the best DC in the conference.

    Gardner is probably the 3rd best qb in the Big Ten behind Martinez and Miller. You know about Robinson obviously. Gallon, Roundtree, and Dileo have played unbelievably the 2nd half of the year. Funchess is a stud in the making as a freshman at TE. Our LT is a first team All America. We have one of the best DCs in the game in Greg Mattison who likes to rotate D linemen in. Jake Ryan is a beast at LB and we have the # 1 pass defense in the country.

    woah, woah, woah. Ease off the kool-aid. I'm the first to admit that Gardner has a really good chance of being the 2nd best QB in the league, but if he was really the 3rd best QB in the league than Al Borges must have been an idiot for moving him to WR exclusively.

    The guy performed well against Minnesota, Iowa, and Northwestern.

    McGloin and Marve were ahead of him in the pecking order, so I'd say 5th based on a limited schedule.

    You failing to take into account our schedule when saying that we are mediocre. Last year's MSU team would be 8-4 with our schedule this year.

    Yea, I think that's because UM played Purdue and IL (combined 8-16) and MSU played IU and Wisky (combined 12-13) as unique cross-division games. That makes up for Bama (12-1) vs. Boise (10-2) plus Umass going 1-11 actually hurt them by 1 game compared to EMU (2-10). Both CMU and AF went 6-6, so that's a wash. Also, UM played MSU (6-6), while MSU played UM (8-4). That's a 2-game difference as well.

    I'd venture to say our schedule was a little tougher and we finished 10-2. Just saying...record vs. schedule isn't a good measurement IYAM.

    (Forget a hail mary against NW that leaves them at 7-5, a missed FG by Conroy from being 6-6 and losing to MSU for the 5th year in a row)

    As has been stated, they were 8-4 because they played the hardest schedule in the country....lol.
