Detroit will be The Narrows or they'll build Arkham Asylum there lol

  • I hope we get some heads up on when they'll be shooting. I'd like to go down and see some action.

  • Nolan has begun testing actresses for two major female roles, one being a villain (Gotta be Taila Al Guhl, which could mean Liam Neeson will return as Ra's) and a love interest (Catwoman most likely).

By process of elimination that's almost gotta be it -- the only other female villain in the "top echelon" of Batman's rogues gallery is Poison Ivy, and you would hope to god the abortion of "Batman and Robin" would rule her out forever.

    Holy dead strippers, Batman!

The RCMB...is one of the most awful, alarming, inappropriate, disgusting, and offensive msg boards in the history of the internet.

Hard to see how Harley would work without Joker, but Nolan has done pretty well so far.

Detroit has some of the oldest tall buildings in the world because everywhere else they have been torn down...they might make so interesting shots ouyt of those.

    Lurking on tRCMB since 1996

  • I don't think it will, but I pray this series doesn't become "Bat Nippled" by Nolan. I hope he sticks with the gangster/mafia angle with just a touch of costumed bad guys. He does such a great job of reasoning the villains (and Batman) and keeping them rooted in some kind of reality.

I just don't think you can do that with Catwoman.

Catwoman is actually about the most realistic of ANY of the Batman villains.

Give me a break, she's as believable as a WNBA player winning a slam dunk contest.

In the comics shes just a hot ass stripper that's kinda good/kinda bad. I think he modeled her after "Long Halloween" it would be a solid character in his universe.

  • The series devoted so much time to rationalize Batman by explaining the science and the training and the monetary resources devoted to keeping him alive and in fighting condition... do you honestly think we are supposed to just accept that strip-aerobics and a sassy attitude allows Catwoman to compete with him?

I mean, I get it, she has no superpowers (unless you count Batman Returns when they HAD to give her superpowers to explain her abilities) but that doesn't mean she is realistic. Just like Robin... kids and women shouldn't be able to do what Batman does.

But I guess she could just be a meddling fringe character and not do all the athletic stuff, but then you'd be taking the cat out of Catwoman. I don't know, I trust Nolan, I just hope he can finish what he started.

  • To be fair, in the comics, Batman is a hell of a lot less athletic that in the Nolan movies. A lot less action packed too.

Think more like Michael Keaton Batman.

Nolan has done an amazing job keeping making some great movies, great batman movies but I think it' a little over-hyped in terms of close to the comic books portrayal of Batman.

Now, the story lines and plots from the comics is another story.

well, our alternatives are a fatass 5-2 guy who makes penguin noises and wears a hat, or a standup comedian who wears leotards with question marks on them.

Uh... this isn't the 60s. The rogues gallery doesn't only consist of the Joker, the Penguin, the Riddler, and Catwoman. There are more "alternatives."

  • Dr. Hugo Strange is supposedly involved as well. Based on the comic book arc Prey.

I think you're thinking of Arkham City-- the video game.

I doubt they'd have Strange in the movies.

Female villian is tough. I'm kind of over the Al-Ghul thing...I think Lazerus Pits are kind of lame.

Scarecrow is still out there keep in mind.

Not many. Nolan can be avant-garde and edgy all he wants but this is still going to be a comic-book movie marketed to a massive mass audience.

He's already stepped outside the "big four" with Ra's, Scarecrow, Two-Face and even (briefly) Mr Zasz. (Falcone and Maroni kind of count too but they certainly weren't major villiains).

Odds are very good the last installment will feature one highly recognizable villain and probably a couple of second-level guys (along with possible return appearances of some from the first two movies).

  • Last time I was in Detroit I thought to myself THIS IS GOTHAM CITY!!! Very appropriate they shoot there.
