The Devils Ride

  • Comes on after Deadliest Catch. I would venture to say that at least 85% of the show is fake. Is that even a real M.C.?

  • They aren't 1%s if that's what your asking but they're a real group of guys who get together to ride and party. They just aren't outlaw bikers. I had some high hopes for the show but realized pretty quick that it sucked.

The guy who they did the Repo for in Vegas is a legit 1% though. His name is Rusty Coones and he was a founder of the Orange County chapter of the Hell's Angels.

That whole repo thing was horribly staged. That guy Sandman going into the ring and "knocking" the guy out was the last straw for me.

  • As a big fan of Sons of Anarchy, I was curious to see what this 'reality' biker show would offer. Pretty disappointing. Everything is staged: the bike repo, the 'fake' fight, and even the prez stepping down after like 2 episodes to start his own gang.

As a side note, the creator of Sons has a new show on Discovery called Outlaw Empires. Each week focuses on a different 'gang'. So far they've covered the Crips, outlaw bikers and the Irish mob (Whitey Bulger). Next weeks is on the Italian mafia.

Sounds like Gangland on History Channel

It's similar to Gangland but with cuts to Kurt Sutter as the "host." Outlaw Empires isn't bad. Nowhere near as good as the American Gangster series that aired on BET though.

  • Kurt Sutter actually posted something on Twitter about the Devil's Ride recently, to the effect of "I think the actors of SOA could beat up this "real" biker gang".

I guess some of these dudes (what are they called again?) got pretty upset. Not sure if anything every came from it though.

What day/time is the Outlaw Empires on?

Outlaw Empires airs on Monday nights on Discovery.

You're right about Sutter's tweet saying the SOA actors could kick the Laffing Devils asses. Only response I saw was from the LD, Sandman, who basically said "bring it on" and called the actor who plays Jax a "Kurt Cobain look-a-like."

After doing some minor searching about the Laffing Devils, it's pretty obvious that they don't get much respect from other clubs. I read that the new VP, Snubz, actually has a masters degree and works in the financial field. Also, Gipsy's wife is a cop. They seem to be a step above weekend warriors.

Similiar. All people who are out of the game, telling their stories. The difference is that Kurt Sutter is "narrating" it.

It's pretty good so far...but I also like Gangland.

Well we can't condemn them for being not being criminals and being smart. The show just sucks is all.

  • The first 55 minutes of the season finale was as staged and fake as the whole season has been. the last five minutes was actually a little sad as Juice passed away from a heart attack. i thought they were just playing up his "heart problems" but he did die three weeks after filming ended.
