That was maybe the best television I have ever seen.

Best since the season 3 finale of Breaking Bad.

Eh.... You knew something was going to happen with Lane. Peggy was a surprise, but she isn't dead and I don't think she is gone for good. I don't think it's the same as Boardwalk Empire killing off Jimmy.

  • I was starting to really like Lane after punching out Peter Campbell and now he's gone. Really gone. I thought he would follow Peggy to a new agency.

I would have rather seen Don's first wife die in a car crash with husband #2 and wtch Don squirm with having to have the kids with his actress wife.

Got to hand it to the writers. Never saw Betty actually liking being a parent and never thought Lane would hang himself after the failed attempt in the new car.

Remember, this is a soap opera. The whole idea of the genre is to develop a group of characters and then throw shit at them. Mix, stir, and repeat.

I think Don and Co. would have known it was a fake dead body. Also, there was talk about the smell in the office. If you were joking, then I am a moran. lol

  • Interesting that Don's entire life and identity is based on a fraud and forgery and that why he fires Layne.

How well is he going to sleep at night? I mean, besides on a pile of money next to his 25 year old hot wife.

Oh yeah and DID NOT need to see the evidence of Sally's womanhood. Not to mention. Can to tell that the kid that plays Glen is the son of the shows creator? Man that kid can't act.

They should have drug that out longer. First the car won't start, then have the rope break, then get a gun that misfires, then jump out the window and land on a truck full of hay...

sounds just like a plot line that happened in LOST. kind of sad it came to that, i figured he would jump out the window.

Also the Sally bathroom scene was too much, we get it

I was waiting for a weird twist. Like he decides to not end it and is going to man up and move forward with the resignation and his life...and then falls down the elevator shaft.

Is it just me or does everyone think someones about to die when they show the lobby w/ the elevators? Why the hell did they show that one scene if not to F with us?

I find it funny, because a few scenes before the Sally scene, my wife said "I hope we see some blood this episode" in regards to a fight like the Lane v Pete episode. Then that scene came and she says "NOT THAT KIND OF BLOOD"

    Careful what you wish for......

Life insurance usually does not pay on suicides.

Guess Don is a Demand Excellencer! I know I wouldn't be happy with 50%! flexlol

That hit home with me. I'm in advertising and just last week the CEO of a client told me that their sales are TOO good and they're afraid that if it continues they can't improve on that next year, making 2013 look bad. It's a fucking chicken-shit attitude. Honestly, we're debating on having a conversation with the client not unlike what Don said to those guys (not as a result of the show, we started talking about this last week). Of course, it's easier to be a hard ass like that when you have nothing to lose like Don....and when you're fictional.

Yeah between this and Game of Thrones I have dealt with way too many periods latley.

That's when you know your luck has turned to shit: When you try to poison yourself in a new Jaguar and the piece of shit won't start. That was a dark laugh right there.

What is that, a Titleist? A hole in one...

  • Well I predicted Lane would jump off the roof. I guess that might have been plan C if the rope broke or the ceiling gave way. lol

Remind yourself. Nobody built like you, you design yourself.

Yup, his brother did it too. Don did the right thing and did a quiet firing, too.

I agree. Don handled the situation well. If Lane felt underpaid or underappreciated he should have brought that up earlier. The time to shout your worth is not when you get caught with your hand in the company till. Don gave Lane the opportunity to tell whatever story he wanted and leave without humiliation (although be it abruptly). Lane just couldn't manage things well (home, work family, etc...)

Lane was an odd puzzle. Joan shot him down. Why did he continue his sexual banter with her if he knew her feelings? It's as if he was trying out a side of himself that he never got to see.
