The Walking Dead season 3

  • Great episode. Rick is about to lose his mind. Glad to see Lori gone....possibly back as a zombie though. Pour some out for T-Dawg :(

Wow...they were really broken up about T-Dog's passing.

    Bad luck T-Dogg.

Has some moments of insight and development, then sacrifices himself for Carol...

...only to have his noble death overshadowed by that of another character.

    Brother can't get a break.

There can only be one token black guy. I am surprised they didn't have them fight Highlander style. "There can be only one!"

  • So why didn't they try and save Lori? Surely minimal planning would have allowed some sort of way to stitch her up. And if they weren't planning on trying to save her, surely they could have killed her in a more humane way without hurting the baby? All seemed very odd to me, but I was writing and might have missed something!

  • pretty sure the brutal c-section caused her to bleed out in minutes. not much they could do when you are making the "incision" with a giant Bowie knife. Lori probably knew all along that this was going to be the end of her...hence having the bald chick learn how to do the c-section beforehand.

Clearly, but there were some much more sensible options. A) Kill her first more humanely (e.g. head slice, not belly slice - nobody with any medical knowledge would see that belly slice as a fatal blow - she would have lived horribly for some time). B) Use the knife like a surgical instrument and not something for chopping down trees? I don't know - I've liked how this show has made the decisions seem sensible, despite the fantasy setting. This one just didn't make sense, and it was a big one. And not in the comics I'm told?

  • Bad survival strategy. Lori is an adult and fertile, obviously. It would make more sense to try and save her and risk losing the baby.

Not in the comics. But even there it didn't end well for her. I like that the show doesn't follow the comics exactly - its like having a TWD alternative universe. Just got compendium 2 (picks up post-prison), and I'm sure it won't take me long to get through it. The comics are great.

So what happened to her in the comics?

I also thought sombody said in a thread in previous seasons that she becomes "bad ass" at some point in the comics. Nowhere did she become badass in the tv show at least. Good riddance. I'm more sad about t-dog. But now i'm pissed that she left a baby for the group to care for. Que noise making drama at some point. if the baby was in the comic it is one thing they should have left out.

She dies in the comic during a crucial fight. She is not bad ass in the comics though. But she is not nearly as annoying as she is in the show.

  • If the black prisoner does indeed take over T-Dog's spot, you have to wonder how the actor portraying T-Dog feels about that. I mean killed and replaced in the same episode is a bit much.

Would it really be too much to ask to have more than one black guy in the group?

I think we all know what's really going on here. The writers don't know how to write for black characters. This is why fans had to campaign for T-Dog to get more dialogue.

Something tells me the baby is going to have a part in the cure of the virus a la a resistance of some sort.

Well the comic has a very important black char that is introduced after they leave Atlanta and before Herschals farm that becomes Ricks buddy. T-dog does not really fit that role besides a similar name (the comic char was named Tyrese I think). Maybe the new prisoner will take that role but I doubt it.

She was shot in the back while running during an attack from the Governor, the bullet also hit the baby. Both died. The person who shot Lori became distraught, got punched by the Governor, then shot and killed the Governor.

That's Andrea. If she keeps her comic character arc she'll become an expert sniper pretty soon. Though, I'm starting to think they'll give that role to Maggie.

  • Lol at Cym Jim bitching about the show not being realistic when the plot is about a zombie apocalypse.
