The entire Tigers coaching staff should be fired. Now.

  • This is a pathetic joke and is now one of the biggest embarrassments in MLB history. You're fucking clown shoes, Leyland. Get the fuck out and never, ever have anything to do with our franchise ever again. McClendon is pathetic, and you're garbage for continuously supporting him. Leyland can go get fucked for supporting losers and not having big enough of a spine to cut them.

There has literally never in MLB history been such a fucking garbage staff that has done so little with so much talent.

Fuck you, Leyland. And fuck every single coach on your staff. Detroit fans deserve better, and your stubborn, self-centered ass can go fucking die in a fire as far as I am concerned.

Right. And I'm assuming you still think this team should never have used Maggs as trade bait like I wanted for the last three years of his career.

The Tigers would have very possibly won a World Series if they would have had enough sack to trade Maggs when they could have.

That's what I never get. I mean, you can blame lineups if you so choose, but when you score 1 run and have Cabrera and Fielder? That's on the players that aren't playing. Leyland trots them out and they aren't producing. if Cabrera goes 0-30, that's not Leyland's fault.

  • Is this like the Jim Leyland version of the Babcock thread? I'm probably in the 10% here, but I hope it is. Tigers could use a 23 game home win streak either way.

  • This thread could go two ways: 1) prescient; or 2) GRR Spartan Babcock thread.

Time will tell. Good luck to you, Forbin.

I'm sure that the entire MLB has signed off on this hypothetical.

What about Inge? They could have gotten a straight Inge for Gehrig trade! Or so I heard.

Yeah, let's blame the entire team, not one guy.

An entire team does not slump. When everyone has the patience of a teenager year old going to prom, that's on the staff. McClendon could be decapitated in front of thousands tomorrow and I wouldn't give a shit. Fuck him.

  • This team, loaded with talent, has not won back to back games in almost a month.

    Who's fault is that?

You're smarter than this. Go have a cheesesteak and wash it down with a Yuengling.

    Why?

Because you can have guys come in and hit extra, which they have. You can review video and tendencies at the start of each series and pregame, which they do. No coach can go to the plate and swing at strikes and let balls go by. The players are highly paid professionals. These aren't high school or college kids. This is also the same coaching staff and mostly the same players who ripped off a ridiculous 2nd half last year. Canning people 33 games in is a tad reactionary in my opinion. If you pull a mass firing, you are likely flushing a season with 129 games to go. Who is going to take over? And don't say Francona. He likes where he is and has won twice. Never has to manage another day.

    Anyone. Anyplace. Anytime.

Best answer in the entire thread. Democrats are clearly to blame.

Okay, so the players are all to blame because they don't know any better and couldn't draw a walk even if you promised them ten grand if they drew one?

    Colonel Forbin

  • Can't really disagree with you tonight Forbin. Pretty pathetic start to this season. Yes, its a long season, but this ship is not going to turn around without a change somewhere. The hitters are swinging at garbage night in and night out. There is just no discipline at the plate right now, other than Jackson. Zero. I can't believe Cabrera of all people is having such a problem. He looks frustrated, and Fielder seems so nonchalant about it all. To me it looks like there is a real lack of focus with most of the team. The bullpen sucking every other night doesn't help either. Last year the turnaround occurred when Knapp was released, and Fister was signed. Really the only thing that can be done to jump start this mess is firing McClendon or Leyland. Maybe I'm missing something, but that's how I see it. I just don't think this thing will fix itself.

    Its five o'clock somewhere.

    Hematoma

  • I'm fucking wasted. I don't care, Leyland is still an asshole as far as I'm concerned. I want to punch McClendon in the face.

    Colonel Forbin

  • One thing that really drives me nuts about jimmy.

You sit your second hottest hitter tonight to give him rest (Jackson). Then when they are down 0-3 in the 8th he pinch hits him?

    Am I the 10% here?

They will turn things around though. They just need to stop swinging for the fences and settle down.

Cabrerra and fielder look like they are trying to hit 500 foot homers every time they get up to the plate.

Also that strike zone was insanely huge tonight. It was going to be tough for a team like Detroit to win that can't bunt, play small ball, or play infield defense.

Damn, the Red Sox finally did that for the first time since August of '11. Beat the Indians too. The Sox aren't the kind of company you want to keep.
