    There has literally never in MLB history been such a fucking garbage staff that has done so little with so much talent.

  • Ugh, so hungover. My words were too harsh, but I still feel it may be time for a regime change. McClendon clearly has to go. The hitters have zero patience. It's so frustrating to watch this team put up 11 runs and then struggle to put up a few the next day. The pitching has severe problems too though. I'm just more frustrated than anything else. This team is ridiculously talented. Yeah, they're only a couple back. But they haven't played too many games against good teams. Losing that many against Seattle and Oakland is scary.

    Because you can have guys come in and hit extra, which they have. You can review video and tendencies at the start of each series and pregame, which they do. No coach can go to the plate and swing at strikes and let balls go by. The players are highly paid professionals. These aren't high school or college kids. This is also the same coaching staff and mostly the same players who ripped off a ridiculous 2nd half last year. Canning people 33 games in is a tad reactionary in my opinion. If you pull a mass firing, you are likely flushing a season with 129 games to go. Who is going to take over? And don't say Francona. He likes where he is and has won twice. Never has to manage another day.

    Effing blower. I bet you supported bw and jls to the bitter end.

  • I really don't care how the Tigers finish this season. I've wanted the Marlboro Man gone since 2008 and 2009's debacles, so this only fans the flames. Bring on Francona next year, with his beer, fried chicken and everything regardless of how this finishes. I'm just sick of seeing Leyland in the dugout with his "yes men" McClendon and Lamont. Time for a new voice.

    I agree they will not fire Leyland and it would cause more disruption than anything. But, McClendan will have to be terminated if things don't change. There really is no other choice. Rick Knapp was fired mid season, so will LM if this trend continues by the end of June. It will be a crap shoot all year with the bull pen.

    Couldn't agree more. I was at the Yankees series this season in the Bronx and was talking to a Yankees fan about Granderson. I told him "yeah, look what the guy can do with a real hitting coach".

    Leyland will refuse to let McClendon go. Illitch is going to have to demand the change.

    The Granderson thing just fried me. He goes to NY and all of a sudden he can hit lefties? Jebus. And conversely, the Yankees had been trying to get Jackson to stop lifting his front leg so high when he was traded. When he came to Detroit, the Tigers just let it go for two full seasons before realizing the Yankees were right all along.

    Its five o'clock somewhere.
