Marcus Camby hasn't been worth 4 Million a year in his prime? He was one of the best defenders and rebounders in the league during his prime.

He won a Defensive Player of the year award, and was on 4 All Defense teams.

Do you even watch the NBA?

(Full Disclosure. I'm a Knicks fan...but I would have defended Camby in the same way a year ago. Anyone who knows anything about the NBA would laugh at your assesment)

4M a year for camby isn't terrible. Wanna get pissed, talk about what Humphries will get, or Reggie Evens getting 1.3M a year.

Yeah, you're wrong on Camby. Don't let his age fool you, he is there to rebound and defend and had teams like San Antonio and Miami lining up to offer mid-level exceptions.

He isn't the 1999 edition Camby, but honestly, he isn't far off given the 13 year gap.

It's a decent move, and he reunites with Melo to add a shred of chemistry to a team that desperately needs it. Now, they just need Lin, Chandler, Melo, Staudamire, and JR Smith to get a full camp underneath them without injury.

I don't think the Camby deal is terrible, although it's a bit risky to commit 3 years to a 38-year old, and I suspect that in year 3 $4mil is going to be steep for Camby.

The NBA throws around some utterly stupid contracts, but that doesn't keep me from enjoying the league as a whole. I mean, all athletes are overpaid in some grand, cosmic sense. The fact that Omar Asik is just signed for $8 mil/yr doesn't mean I can't enjoy watching an NBA game, just the same as CBS signing a billion-dollar broadcast contract for the NCAA tourney and not compensating the student-athletes beyond scholarships doesn't stop me from enjoying March Madness.
