Yeah I don't know about Rick...there's just not a lot about him that impresses me right now.

Boesch was so overrated coming into the year. He's had one good half, and that was before the rest of baseball realized he will swing at anything. Really think we should look at Avila in the 2 hole.

I'm assuming you're talking about the 1st half of 2010 when he hit .342 before the All-Star break?
What about last year? He had a .283 avg/.341obp with 16 HR and 54 RBI in 2011 before getting hurt. You don't consider that good? It's not quite Miguel Cabrera but I would still consider it pretty good.

I'd call .281/.341 average for a right fielder in the AL. And I certainly don't want that .341 OBP hitting in front of Miggy and Prince. Plus I don't see him getting back to that .341 OBP anytime soon with his approach this year.

He wet the bed in the second half of 2010 and is a career .265 hitter as we speak with a lot of strikeouts.
Not a guy you want batting second that should be getting on base.
Not to mention he is definately trending downwards. May well be a guy( like many others) who doesnt have the skill to stay ahead of scouting reports.
Tigers have two good starting pitchers, and are basically great where they are great( middle of lineup, first two pitchers and back of bullpen), but bad, real bad elsewhere, except behind the plate.
Plus they cant run, and strike out a lot. A lot more holes than the money invested in the roster should have.
The front end starters, back end pen, and middle of the lineup is likely enough to win the Central, but unlikely to do much else, IMO.
The key thing is the 3 and 4 starters are just flat unimpressive from a consistancy standpoint, have been, and nothing i have seen would make me believe they wont continue to be.
They need a front end starter.
