Seriously, why the fuck is Dirks DHing and Young in LF. If Young can't put his ego aside and play DH, then he should be in RF with Boesch DHing. It make no sense to DH your 2nd best defensive OF with your 2 worst in the field.

Well, in the "best of times, worst of times" theme, Scherzer and Schlereth have roughly the same ERA now. Scherzer better than cut his in half, Schlereth more than doubled his.

Of course, Schlereth should be receiving a substantial bonus from Delmon Young for that routine fly ball to left = triple.

And they gave the hitter a triple? Sounds like it should have been E-7.

I know, 7 games in, but I'm getting concerned with how only 5 of the Tigers batters have worked walks (Peralta, Avila, Fielder, Jackson, Cabrera), and 15 of the 18 walks belong to three batters (Avila, Cabrera, Jackson) and of those, 12 belong to Jackson and Cabrera.

In addition the Tigers bats have struck out 42 times compared to the 18 walks.

Don't hold your breath on Young or Raburn walking more than once a month, they have no concept of where the strike zone is located.

Boesch started out very anxious. But he isn't going to get many walks batting in front of Cabrera and Fielder.

That was readily apparent during Young's last at bat. He swung at ball four, then watched strike 3 go by.
