Rick Carlisle wasn't fired for poor performance. He was fired because he treated too many people at The Palace poorly including some of Mr. Davidson's favorite Palace lower level employees. Carlisle, like Nick Saban has learned how to treat people better as he got older.

I worked for the Pistons for 5 years (although not during the Carlisle era). The coach may have treated people poorly, but I doubt his firing had ANYTHING to do with low level employees on the Palace side of the business. During my time, the basketball coaching staff has very little interaction with "low level" Palace employees who are more involved in arena management and ticket sales. Also, Mr. D rarely interacted with anyone below executive VP status other than a casual greeting.

By low level employees I meant some of the secretarial staff the worked for Mr. Davidson. Carlisle was known as an arrogant guy and in the NBA there are a lot of arrogant people. He treated people poorly. So poorly Davidson didn't want him around anylonger.
