    I agree. Bad decision that resulted in a major injury. I don't think Bertuzzi meant to hurt Moore. I didn't think it at the time it happened either. No injury, no problem. Unfortunately the injury was serious and he's paid for it. And he's not done paying for it either since there's a lawsuit still pending.

    And Todd didn't act alone. Crawford basically gave an order to hurt Moore. That was corroborated by the director of hockey operations.

    add to the fact that he has shown plenty of remorse over the situation and, as has already been stated, he has not shown the tendency to do this again, the guy has shown to have learned from his mistake.

    He was a huge, dooshbag, thugass mistake. But history has shown that he has learned from it.

  • I don't understand what people being critical in this thread want people to do? Not root for him, demand he be cut from the team? Ken Holland has decided he's deserving of a spot, it is what it is, he's on the team. I'm not going to try and say what he did wasn't wrong or stupid, but I do think he wouldn't have done it if he knew it would cost Moore the rest of his career. Besides, he sat out an entire year and was sued by Moore, for something like $5 million if I remember correctly, so it's not like he hasn't paid for it.

    It's extremely unfortunate that Moore was hurt so badly, but have you lost all respect for Carkner on Ottawa too? He's done this twice now. I get that both times the guy was looking at him and knew he was there, but Bertuzzi was tugging on Moore's jersey so he knew he was there too. In all three instances, the aggressor just clocks an unsuspecting opponent, and the only real differences is that Carkner is lucky that neither guy has been seriously hurt. Bertuzzi's is definitely worse, but it's more an indictment on hockey culture and the tendency to go too far for a lot of guys then TB being a genuinely bad person.

    Yup. I remember my dad hated Bertuzzi. And always said, it wasn't a bad hit. Just a really fluke injury. No one would make a fuss of it if the fluke injury didn't happen.

    Eh... Total loss of respect for him after the Steve Moore incident. I'm glad he doesn't want his teammates being assaulted, but not so glad he feels it's okay to assault others. I understand you guys are Wings fans, but Todd Bertuzzi is a POS. And yes I know it was because of the Naslund crap, but you are incorrect if you think Steve Moore deserved what he got.

    Todd Bertuzzi doesn't think he deserved what he got either. He hasn't been involved in a single incident since then. It was an unfortunate outcome to something that happens in hockey every once in a while.

    Claude has a history of cheat shots. He was always a dirty player. He had several plays against the Wings that were way out of bounds.

Hell, Zetterberg could have had fractured a vertebra from Weber's jackass head into the glass move. Of course if that happened Weber would be suspended for the entire playoffs and there would be a huge uproar about how dangerous the NHL has become.

    Speaking factually, the wings 2 year Stanley Cup run in 08-09 were between Bertuzzi stints in detroit.

    I do not like him for many reasons. That is opinion.

    I have many points, but in relation to bertuzzi just one:

    Bad karma

    Wings pride themselves on chemistry/family mentality and he just doesn't fit. I found myself chuckling about the Weber fight.
