  • Seems to be growing a rep in the Big 10 as a big time douche.. The best part about him being at the games though is at least then he can't cheat on his wife.

  • Geez, its not like Crean didn't understand what he was inheriting. Hell, he wouldn't even have the job if Sampson and his crew hadn't screwed up so bad. Crean should have given the guy a thank you card for screwing up enough that Crean got the IU job

If only we had a former Hoosier on our staff who would have a go at it with his alma mater....as we are only 1-3 against them since Fife was hired I think similar actions would go a long way in proving his loyaltyspartan2

Lets not forget the first thing he said after the game when getting interviewed was "I can't believe they called that, can you believe they actually called a foul there?"

Crean has turned into a giant douche.

I couldn't believe they called the foul, and I don't think the fact that they still ended up winning should take away from the criticism. I only say this as an objective fan and if this same thing would have happened against MSU we would have been pissed. That being said, it should have not have been raised immediately after the game, let alone the first thing to come out of his mouth since he does come off as an ungrateful whiner

  • I loved this. The guy was fucking everyone that worked hard and invested in the IU program. Crean wears his heart on his sleeve, no doubt, but is a stand up guy and if you are a good person he will go to the ends of the earth to help you. I am a little upset/disappointed to be honest that this thread is +50. If MSU got fucked like IU and Crean was at MSU you guys would love him.

  • Crean is just immortalizing himself with the Indiana faithful.

Picture this, MSU has a coach that commits NCAA violations that destroy the program, and then Michigan hires one of the assistants that participated in said violations. Then our new coach calls the Michigan assistant out for cheating and what it did to our program and attempts to shed light on the fact that Michigan hired yet another NCAA rule breaker. I would think that type of action would receive a standing ovation from the MSU faithful.

  • More and more, it seems like Indiana and Crean are a perfect match. I used to want him if Izzo had taken those other offers, but now, I'm not sure I would be real comfortable with it between the flopping and this episode.

He and Izzo are extremely close. In fact, it was Izzo who convince him to leave Marquette for the IU job and he spoke to Izzo about not leaving for Cleveland. 5 years after being hit with some of the most crippling NCAA sanctions ever and having only 1 returning player on his first roster, a walk-on who averaged 1.2 points a game IU is Big Ten champs. have to give him props for that.

People sure seem to be so upset that he got into a confrontation with a Michigan assistant. huh

yeah, that post-game interview after the game at Breslin where he spent the first few minutes praising the hell out of Izzo, what he built, the atmosphere at Breslin, and how he considers himself extremely fortunate to have been allowed to be a part of it was the height of douchebaggary. huh

The guy is ridiculously intense, like the man he considers his mentor. Nothing wrong with that. Really happy for him considering what he inherited.

He was a bit intense at MSU too.

I don't like how he shows his underperforming kids the door after over signing with higher ranked kids. Hope that catches up with him someday.

I would hope the MSU coach, if he felt that passionately about it, wouldn't take 4 years to call him out at the very first moment he wins something. I would also hope the MSU coach wouldn't have his kids fake flagrant fouls and then rant on the sidelines as part of the act.

he's had 4 transfers in his time at IU - one who followed him from Marquette (Williams) and one who was going to commit to Marquette then followed him to IU (Capobionco). He definitely could have run Maurice Creek off since he couldn't stay healthy but did not.

And sometimes kids see the writing on the wall and made the decision to transfer as they see better guys coming in and their minutes decreasing. I do know he ran some guys at Marquette but had damn good reasons to do it (off the court and attitude issues).

Four players who once suited up for IU since Tom Crean came to town are now playing elsewhere, while another four are one-time IU commits who never hit Branch McCracken Court in cream and crimson. So what has become of this group of one-time and almost-Hoosiers?

You're right, maybe accusing him of cheating is a bit overboard. Even though judging by his twitter actions its most likely true....

About 10 other schools/fanbases in the Big 10 despise the guy. Over half on tRCMB seem to as well, with some hanger ons that like him due to his ties here in the past. It's not hard to figure out, the guy either comes off very wrong and doesn't know it, or he is a straight up douche bag.

Who cares that Izzo is friends with him. Izzo isn't perfect, nor do I expect him to be.
